Tokyo Oct 08: Thursday Night Hakata Style Pig-out:

On the 2nd Day of TIFFCOM they had another reception, but this time I didn't take any pics.  I did however take some pics when we went to Shibuya later on for a post-dinner dinner:


Welcome to the Shibuya Ichiran (strangly one of the smallest ones in Tokyo!)

That may sound crazy, but believe it or not Patrick also wanted more... about an hour after Ichiran,  we were back in Roppongi with Pemapema-chan and decided to try the Tokyo branch of my SECOND favorite Hakata Ramen chain restaurant, Ippudo

(I used to go here a lot back in the day because there was one that was open til 2am near my house in Fukuoka).


Well if you're happy, I'm happy...


I wasn't quite as hungry as Patrick, so I decided to sample a strange item they had on the menu - 'Hakata Buns'.  Its basically a bun with some chashu (slice of roasted pork) in a bun. ...please spare me whatever perverted joke you may have been thinking about involved me and putting some meat into some buns from Hakata...



They have gyoza and other stuff here too.  It was good, but Patrick's ramen was sub-par,  having eaten at their Kyushu branches, I can say its more a problem with this branch rather than the whole chain...  but either way Ichiran is still #1 in my book.
