pre-party mini-tour

Actually one more anniversary party related blog I forgot to post.  I typed this up on the airplane actually.

Things were quite hectic the week before the party,  between the videos, DVDs, boards, banners, stickers, press releases, sponsors, etc... 

Unfortunately the party also happened to be a good reason to come visit so I had to play host to some friends coming to HK from overseas.    Regular Etchy blog readers will know that I like to make an effort to show my international friends around HK as much as possible...  But in this case I didn't get much time for any elaborate tours,  but the morning of the party i took our two Japanese friends out briefly before heading to set up for the party...

Went up to Mongkok:

stop to sample the egg tarts... not bad but I prefer the Macau ones more.
僕はマカオのタールトの方が好き。


Aside from just the crowds, one of the other interesting things to see is the fruit market closer to the KCR station.  lots of SE Asian weird fruit I don't even recognize.  

Those red things the guy w/ the dangling cigarette is stacking up are called a 'Rose Apple' or something like that in English... perhaps better known by their scientific name 'Syzygium jambos'... 　　南東アシアのロースりんごを知っている？

Durians for all!

(worse than taking a picture of a durian is taking a picture of someone taking a picture of a durian). :-P

After that dimsum in TST...　最後は早くTSTで飲茶を食べた！

doh, or at least the aftermath... :-P

anyway, i ran out early,  went back home dropped off one load of stuff and rushed off to spend the next 5 hours taping up foam boards... :-P
