• CAN continues... I guess it's a theme

  CAN this time, Clean Air Network Program y'all
  Focus On Film is all on top of it!
  
  We have five instructors out in the field, bringing that special brand of video production instruction to kids in local schools everywhere.  Kids are busy shooting with our new Cameras and Gear and getting all excited about how tough it is to make a movie...
  Results will be 'woven' into a video 'tapestry' by the magical magician of digital post Flimages and presented in CWB at the end of the year.
  
  Stay tuned for the event- you gotta see this one.  Man, it concerns you DIRECTLY!  It's like, the air you like BREATHE!

   well.....

  Me thinks those around me doth protest too much.

  Finished the first draft of 'The Death Loop' and where it is a 'good' script it really needs to be an 'amazing' script.

  I wasn't sure at first if i could 'go there' but after the feedback i now know i was 'on the right page' and will now 'turn it out'.

  It is funny, when you are writing, you get into this little world that is all your own and sometimes it is impossible to tell if others reading what you have written are with you - in that same world you are in.  But i think i have found a way to remedy that.  It is about that sweet spot when i can feel it working:  i act and react as though i am the characters.  Then i am speaking from a place of truth.  And that always works.  Like I would try to do as an actor... but with the written word.

  B said that as he read the first draft, he felt the world around him (i'm paraphrasing, okay?) and that at the end he felt his emotions rise.  But i want more.  And so I am taking the characters- taking some of them i didn't bring on the full ride, taking some of them hostage, and i am going to break them open and reaveal them to themselves.

  I say:  get my butt off the internet, and get back to my own little world- the head movies that make my eyes rain (if you get that reference , you are truly okay in my book

• BACK FROM CANNES

  Well, I'm back.... Couches were slept on, Festivals were attended , and two weddings were had- no, not my own!  One in Italy and one in Scotland.
  

  I brought SEVEN (count em, seven) of Focus on Film student works to the 62nd International Film Festival Cannes Short Film Corner

  I had a stop over in London and got my fill of culture for two days- check out the Tate exhibition of the dimensional art work.  The chairs were taller than my head (okay, not that hard to do , i know) and the Globe was so amazing.  Theatre is alive and well and it is living in London folks.

  And now it is back to work.  The kind that makes more films, by more students.  Spread the word about the August summer camps folks.  Too late for July! 

  Who wouldn't want to make a film and have that film travel all over the world?  Do we love what we do?  YES

• Focus on Film at Filmmart

  They made us feel at home.  Focus on Film represented at filmmart.   Jac and I had a ball playing with all the wonderful toys.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeat stuff.  Red Camera, crane, hands free transporter- what a great time.

• March Film Camps Done and Dusted
