Recapping the long weekend...

For those of you in Canada, I hope y'all had an awesome long weekend. I kept myself pretty busy as this is the last long weekend of the summer! *gasp* I can't believe how this summer has flown by so quickly!

On Saturday, I went to a bbq with my dragon boat team - had so much fun eating, playing rock band, and a hilarious board game called 'Dirty Minds' Not sure if you've heard of this game but it's essentially like charades but instead of drawing clues, you read out 'dirty' descrīptors for ordinary words/objects. We played guys against girls and of course, the girls won! I think we're just good at taking the words and analyzing them together instead of the guys, who took every word literally! For example, a descrīptor would be:

I get laid in an alley, I often end up in the middle of your split, When you slip your finger inside me, I am ready to roll... what am I??? (answer at the end of this post!)

I made 'lor mai chee' for dessert and they turned out quite well!

On Sunday, I went to the annual Heritage Days festival - where there are tents set up in one of our HUGE parks and every tent has food from the countries they represent. Some even have tents set up with trinkets to sell and info from that country. There were also lots of performances such as traditional dances, and of course, lots of martial arts! I didn't have time to take any pictures cuz I was too busy eating!

Later that evening, I went clubbing - not particularly a great experience since I haven't gone in eons and the crowds here are pretty redneck... just lots of people looking for trouble. Another weird thing was the in the middle of the dancing, they starting shooting streamers into the crowd so we all got tangled up in paper... then they started handing out balloons (the long ones that you make balloon animals with) and the dance floor was a mess... add in the snow machine and it just got disgusting...haha... at that point, it was time for another drink

Monday was the holiday and I just spent the day chilling and preparing for another bbq... ended up bringing some fruit kebabs. The party was ok... there were 2 babies there so it got really LOUD!

anyway, I've been slowing catching up on the blogs and it looks like everyone had an awesome weekend as well!

... and the answer to the dirty clue is... a bowling ball!!!

Oh wow I really miss the Lor Mai Chee. I remember making them when I was kid in HK. Yummy!

Summer has really gone by so fast. Sounds like you had a fun filled weekend. That board game seems like it would be a real trip :)

I rarely (almost never) get to see canteloupes and honeydews b/c my mom is allergic to it...

Haha. What a fun way to play a word game! Man, I'd have a ball with that, almost as much fun as with Pictionary. I love Pictionary. ;D

I also went to a festival over the weekend. Art booths. I was joking with Mr. P about next year - we could set up a yakitori booth cos we thought there wasn't anything like that there. But then we found the teriyaki booth. Oh well. I was even imagining my fridge filled with chicken and beef pieces marinating in large containers. haha.
