• Watching Dailies at Home

  After the a shoot it's always very relaxing, because it tells me that I have a couple days where I can sit back and watch dailies over and over again.  Dailies are the stuff that we shoot on a particular day.  We call it dailies because you are supposed to watch it after every shooting day.  I usually give myself a bit of time in between shoots so I can afford to watch dailies over a period of time and with the convenience of non-linear editing, I can play with the clips too.  I am now at the stage where I am playing around with my clips.  Adding certain effects, cutting it in all sort of ways.  Basically trying to inspire myself.  I am overall pretty happy with the first day of shooting.  I think once I am about done playing with the clip then it's time for me to hold another production meeting for the second shoot.  Although I did plan to shoot for only two days, I may have to go on to a third.  I am to have Ah Fai on board.  Ah Fai's a good friend and I think we work together pretty well.  Having him as the DOP (Director of Photography), I get to focus on directing and planning (mind you I love to direct and DOP at the same time).
