The Cats are Plotting!

I have always believed that animals communicate in some way to each other. Now I know!

A few days ago, I went to the store and picked up a little Christmas treat for our two Maine Coon kitties, Jackie and Ahnyo. When I got home I put the bag on the floor to answer the phone and Jackie smelled the catnip and started poking his head into the bag. I was going to fill a few old socks with some of it and give it to them for Xmas, so I grabbed it away from him and put it up in a kitchen cabinet while he watched. His litter-mate Ahnyo was nowhere in sight.

Yesterday the cats were under the dining room table, facing each other and looking intently at each other as if deep in some silent conversation. As my daughter Kim watched, Jackie lead Ahnyo into the kitchen. Ahnyo then got up onto the counter and stood up to the cabinet (which had been left open!) on his hind legs  reached in, knocked my bag of oodon noodles out of the way and then grabbed the bag of catnip that his brother must have told him was there!

He brought it onto the floor and the two of them proceded to try to open it before Kimberly got it away from them and put it back on a higher shelf!
