Well  your hotel is not located inside of San Francisco. So you're going to have to get a rental car or take Bart (save you the hassle of looking for parking).

If you get a rental car, drive over the Golden Gate to Marin County and head to the top of Mt Tamalpais for a great view of a lot of the Bay Area on a clear sunny day.  Here's the link for info:

Thanks for dropping by my blogs by the way!!!

i think it's easier to go around by Bart then to find parking downtown SF.  You can also go check out SFMOMA, but incomparable to the NYC MOMA tho'.
So u're staying at the SF hotel for a whole week?  i think staying overnite at Napa is also a good idea.

there is a new westfield mall downtown on market street, i'd suggest checking it out if you love to shop.  there is also a 3-story forever 21 a few blocks from there.  if you like vintage clothing, check out haight street.   japantown is a cute place for good sushi and karaoke.  chinatown is a crazy place with great chinese food and cheap souvenirs.  pier 39 is quaint and touristy, and ghirardelli square is upscale and nice.

You need a rental car if you plan to be out and about at nights.

What Renren said is good. And go visit Napa or Sonoma valleys. Take a ferry ride around the bay - don't bother getting off at Alcatraz or Angel Island. Well, Angel Island's good for some Chinese immigration history. Don't bother with the beaches even though the weather's nice bc water's cold. You can walk across the Golden Gate Bridge - it's not too long and is great for pics. I'd skip Fillmore/Union shopping - you won't have nuf time, I think. Exploratorium - forget it.

if you're in the city on a weekday, i love brunch (and it's less busy on a weekday). so i suggest: Mama's on Washington Sq (best monte cristo sandwiches), Dottie's in the tenderloin has great diner breakfast food, Citizan Cake in Hayes Valley has awesome desserts, Bombay Ice Creamery in the mission has bomb-ass ice cream, and there's always farmer's markets and tasty food spots at the Ferry Building =)
um. Haight Ashbury has unique SF shopping, Palace of Fine Arts and the Exploratorium are fun... i could go on and on. what sorta things are you looking for? what do you like. do you want to rent a car and drive around the bay?

    1) Take the Bart to Union Square - shop a little.
    2) Hop on the cable car and tour the city a little - it'll take you straight to Fisherman's Wharf (souvenirs, pics), Ghiradelli Square (ice cream).
    3) Take the bus to North Beach (Little Italy area, vintage shops, etc)
    4) Walk a block to Chinatown.
    OR...
Rent a car...drive into the city (and do all the above), drive down Lombard street (curvy street with a bunch of flowers), Golden Gate bridge for pics, Palace of Fine Arts, Marina, Fillmore/Union/Chestnut street shops/food/bakeries.

Hmm...maybe I should PM you a list of stuff to do.
