Wow. I am officially terrible at blogging.
It seems that every time I post here, it's to apologise for being M.I.A. Once again, sorry guys! I've just recently come back from a month long hosting gig on the west coast! It was the first time I'd hosted a stage performance so big! It was incredibly nerve wrecking initially but once I got the hang of it, it was like being on a 2-hour long high. SO exhilarating!
I know a ton of people are on this but I've just gotten around to setting up my Weibo! It took FOREVER to figure out. That was definitely a reality check! I have to improve on my written Chinese!

Hey guys!
I know it's a little late but HAPPY SPRING FESTIVAL to you all!
Sorry it's been so long since I last updated. It's always a little hectic before and after the Chinese New Year hols.
I went to my grandma's place in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah for a couple of days. My parents, sisters, uncle and cousin came down too! It was awesome!
After that, I left on a diving holiday to Pulau Lankayan. 4 days of just diving, tanning, swimming, eating and sleeping. TOTAL HEAVEN!
I don't have an underwater case for my camera but I'll get one before my next diving trip so I can show you! For now, you'll just have to settle for beach shots.

I went home to Kuala Lumpur (KL) for a couple of days after that and ate everything in sight. THIS is one of my absolute favourites...banana leaf rice...*yummmm*Oh...and I cut my hair again...what do you think?

UPDATE: I almost forgot! Some of you have been asking why you haven't seen me on telly recently. Aside from the holidays, I've also stopped hosting Culture Express due to scheduling problems (we travel for weeks to shoot episodes for Travelogue and Culture Express is a daily in-studio show). Hosting Culture Express would mean giving up Travelogue entirely and I love hosting the show and traveling too much to give it up just yet! Yin is now hosting Culture Express, but that means that she's no longer with Travelogue!
Also, we're currently working on new episodes for Travelogue so you'll be seeing more great travel destinations over the year! I'm excited!!
If you miss me during this time, don't worry, I'm still on Center Stage every weekend.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

It's a little late to wish everyone a Merry Christmas but HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you enjoyed the holidays.
I spent my Christmas WORKING and while it wasn't a typical Christmas, it was good all the same. I cooked up a storm for my Travelogue colleagues while Yin ran around town helping me to get the pre-ordered bread from the German bakery, cream for my cream of mushroom soup and MORE lights for my tree. I was REALLY tired after a day of cooking but for some of my Chinese colleagues, it was the first time they'd ever tried a turkey AND my cooking. I had to order a turkey this year though because my oven is WAY too small for such a large bird but it was great feeding my colleagues!! I love cooking for the people I care about! If I had my way, I'd fatten everyone I knew up! 
I have to say, it wasn't easy finding a real Christmas tree in Beijing but after much hunting, I found one! It's my little secret for now but if you want to know where I got one, I'll tell you if you're nice. It's still standing in my living room because I'm not quite ready to part with the scent as yet. The great thing about the Christmas trees in Beijing is that they come in pots so you can always replant them after the holiday season is over.
But what was really exciting for me this Christmas was that I co-hosted my first show! Ji Xiao Jun and I usually split Culture Express episodes but for the new year episode, we teamed up and pre-taped a special edition. I was really nervous about it because he's been in the industry a lot longer and has a really great on-screen presence but I think we did a great job and more importantly, I had SO much fun doing it!

Back in Beijing

After a month and a half in New York, I am finally back in the Jing. It's been a hectic week with quite a few changes but I like being busy so really, I have nothing to complain about. :)
On the first day back, I was asked if I'd like to move to Culture Express, the daily news show permanently (Daily. BJT: 2:30am, 8:30am, 2:30pm, 8:30pm GMT: 6:30pm, 0:30am, 6:30am, 12:30pm on CCTV International) and while I agreed at first, I've decided that I'm not quite ready to give up 'Travelogue' entirely. Now, I'm just waiting to see what my bosses have to say, hosting Culture Express daily and looking forward to shooting Travelogue again SOON.
Either way though, I'll still be hosting Center Stage (Saturday and Sunday. BJT: 01.30am,10:30am, 4:30pm, 10:30pm GMT: 2:30am, 8:30am, 2:30pm CCTV International). I'm putting in the showtimes just in case you guys have forgotten about me during my absence.
Also, if by chance you'd like to let me know that you missed me, want to tell me that you hate my shows/ like my shows or if you just want to tell me about your pet dog or what you had for dinner, write me.

Now back to New York... I had so much fun just walking around Manhattan. I don't think I've walked so much in a while but I think that's the best way to take in a city -- walking aimlessly. I can't even begin to tell you how much New York felt like home to me. The food, the people I met, the clubs, the shopping, the streets, the air... I felt as if I'd lived there my entire life -- a true New Yorker with the attitude to boot. And acting class was superb. I'll post up videos of that soon. And after classes were over, my boyfriend came down to visit for 10 days -- the perfect end to 1.5 months in New York. Hopefully, I'll be back there again soon.
P/S I cut my hair. Love it or hate it, I think it was a genius cut. So thanks to Gabriel @ Wonderland, I now have a new do that makes me feel like a rocker. Too bad it doesn't come off as well onscreen as it does in real life. I'll try to get it perfected soon.
