I went to a sushi restaurant with my parents. We had sushi and blow fish there. I happned to see a famous sumo wrestler whose name is Tochiazuma. Actually he retired a while a go and he is now Oyakata. He used to be Ozeki. Yokoduna is the top grade and Ozeki is the second from the top.

両親と寿司屋に行きました。そこで寿司とふぐを食べました。偶然、有名な相撲取り、栃東に会いました。実際は少し前に引退したので、今は親方です。彼は以前、大関でした。横綱が一番上で、大関は二番目です。

In the pic, you can't see but he still has long hair because he hasn't had a ceremony yet. Sumo wrestler has a ceremony　which is called "Danpatsu-shiki" to show his hair cut after his retirement. Tochiazuma, the sumo wrestler in this pic will have it next February. Although Sumo is a Japanese national sport, all Yokozuna wrestlers are NOT Japanese at the moment. 　He is a nice guy and I really wanted him to be a Yokoduna!

断髪式がまだなので、写真では見えないけれど彼はまだ長い髪です。相撲取りは,引退後に"断髪式”と呼ばれるセレモニーで髪を切ります。栃東、写真の相撲取りは今度の２月にそれを行います。相撲は日本の国技であるにもかかわらず、現在、日本人の横綱はいません。彼は良い人だし、横綱になって欲しかった！

Current 2 Yokoduna are from Mongol. Some wrestlers come from Russia, Europe, Hawaii...

A lot of sumo wrestlers are Samoan or some other Pacific Islander, aren't they? I remember watching a short documentary of men who were starting out as sumo wrestlers and also about the established wrestlers too.

ふぐ is usually called 'blow fish' or 'puffer fish' in english, but most people who like Japanese food know it also as 'Fugu'. :-)

(just like they know 'sushi')
