Finally bought a replacement for the Jeep. There were too many "signs" to retire the Jeep. We bought a used Honda CRV for my commute. Got a good deal. Guy wanted $13 firm. I got it for $12K. See similar one selling for $15K. The guys just wanted to get rid of it for his sister. It's not a Salvage and runs great! I'm liking it already as it's saving me $$$ on gas. With the Jeep, I was spending $45 per week. Now, I'm spending that amount every 2 weeks. No more crawling through the back seat to open the the front driver door (it's been busted for 2+ months). Here's a list of the Jeep's ailments:
Driver door doesn't open from outside, need to crawl through back seats and reach over driver seat to open. I guess it's carjack-proof.
Back tailgate doesn't open...at all. Thus, can't put $hit in the back. Not good for Costco runs.
Transmission needs change. It can't make up it's mind on which gear it should be in. In the AM, when in D, the tranny seems to have a mind fart before engaging.
Brakes need changing....really bad. I miss the pulsing and pulling sensation when trying to stop.
Electrical...bad. When the weather gets hot. Jeep must belike it as the AC doesn't work. Signal doesn't work...try merging during commute hours with that. Airbag warning lights come on. Trip computer and clock turns off.
Stalling. Not that bad...it only does that once or twice a week...hey, I'm an optimist. It could be worse like 3- 5 days a week.
So, I've place it on Craigslist..."Jeep needs TLC"...surprisingly I've gotten a few hits. Unfortunately, I've been too busy to respond. I'll try again this weekend to repost. Double unfortnunate...I got scam emails sent to me. They offer to buy at full price by sending a cert. check plus funds for shipping. I see the same email on Craigslist warnings. Sorry, with Jeep, it's "IN CASH WE TRUST".
