I'm the writer/ director of this film. Just wanted to say thanks for the comments. It's certainly very encouraging and humbling. I was fortunate to have very dedicated crew and cast! :-)

Just to clarify - this is neither a TVC nor a project for STB at all. It was a promo film made for MDA to attract filmmakers to produce their projects in Singapore. But they were looking at something TVC-style.

BTW I just joined so forgive my super sparse page.

ha~ our company also been through some STB project in malaysia, think of wil they pick u as singapore iconic model n advertise them, n u really r! i remember the scene u r outside a building balcony, shoot from ur back, tat is nice =]

very romantic! Looks like a city somewhere in Europe... Singapore looks very mysterious.

VO does sound off for such commercial...the concept...can be beautiful but also can be the complete opposite. it's brave for singapore to take on such concept for the subject matter...interesting.
personally, it doesn't work for me as a tourism commercial, more of a story telling and might even work better if it's for Nikon or any other digital camera commercial.
which by the way, was it then tht you took those black and white photographs? *smile*

At first that voiceover sounded like it was from a trailer for a horror movie!

If you hadn't said so, I'd have never known this was a tourism vid.
Voice over guy should make insomnia cds. Such a relaxing and soothing voice.... ;)

Not your usual tourism material.  It seems I have heard this narrators voice before.  Like... for the trailers for "Tales of Narnia" ......"In a place far far away, where nothing seems as it really is, two forces are about to collied with unforeseen consequences...."   Watch for the sequel coming next summer...when Singapore arises from the water and achieves extraterrestrial status...."

Most of the STB stuff is done for overseas markets to promote Singapore as a holiday destination, which is probably why we won't get to see this ad in Singapore.

interesting...however didn't get to see this in Singapore's ads...
