I kept my friend company last night by sleeping in her room at the Beverly Wilshire. No street parking without a permit! No self-parking! I had to pay $40 for valet.  I thought it was only $18.  Anyways...today I didn't have to go to work because I had to attend an Emotional Intelligence Training course in Woodland Hills. Before the training started I thought it was going to be a waste of time. I'm an emotional genius...what more can I possibly learn? So much more! We had a really great speaker, she was very passionate and motivating. Luckily, she didn't try to brainwash us into thinking that Citigroup is the best employer in the world. Anyways...I'm generally pretty calm and in control of my emotions...in the work place at least. When I'm feeling sad or angry or empty even...I can usually pin point what the cause is and how to fix it. I wish I was just as in control of my emotions on the road...but you know...it probably will never happened. I have road rage and I have accepted that. I truly believe that a big step in personal development is being able to identify and accept your faults. Well I think you're also suppose to find a way to fix it too...but oh wells. I have other things to worry about. It was nice to be out of the office for a day...no phone calls and no uninvited dilemmas or emotional strains. Crap! Crap! Crap! I just know that there is going to be a huge mountain stack of work waiting for me to get to tomorrow. I desperately need a vacation.

It's nice when speakers have passion in their presentations, it comes across well, and rubs off on the listeners and trainees.

Surely we all suffer from road rage these days, even I get it as a pedestrian! Not easy staying calm when someone cuts you up on the highway, I've felt angry, and I've only been a passenger.

Is this supposed to help the employees keep their morale up? I'm sure this seminar's been planned months in advance. I think companies should fund more self-help seminars. Make their employees better people which affects the quality of their work at the workplace.

  • Super straight forward and blunt. I'm the friend that tells you that you look like sh*t at the end of a long day at work (and then I help you fix your hair)...
