Remember how I spent last Sunday with cute little Cadence? Did I mention she had a cold? Did I mention that while I was carrying her she sneezed and coughed right into my face? Well guess what happened this week? I got sick. Congestion, headache, runny nose, and the cough. Luckily I didn't have a fever though. It still sucks to be sick. I wasn't feeling too well Tuesday afternoon and sure enough Wednesday morning when my alarm clock rang, I felt like sh**. My whole body ached and I thought my head was going to explode. So I emailed my boss to let them know that I was going to take the day off. Let me tell ya...thank god for my blackberry. I didn't think I would've been able to get up turn on my computer. I know I could've called, but my alarm clock is set for 5 am. I don't think anyone wants to take my call that early.

So I slept almost all day on Wednesday except for the three hours I was at the doctor's office. Two hours with my primary physician and one hour with my dermatologist, which I had made an appointment with weeks in advance. Still I felt like I was working. I had to constantly send emails to my boss and the annoying loud girl that I work with to make sure that they were getting work done. I just had to make sure that they weren't slacking just because I was out sick. I didn't want them to get the idea that "since Rennie is not here today we'll just wait till tomorrow to do this or that."

I went back to work on Thursday and Friday. I was still feeling really sick, but I couldn't let my workload pile up. I'm just not that type of employee (unfortunately). I walked around really slowly, didn't really interact with anyone, and apparently I wasn't smiling much either. My boss finally said on Friday "I don't like it when you're sick. You're just not your cheery self." So I said "well...sh** happens." Luckily I woke up Saturday morning feeling a lot better. I did some Christmas shopping, got a haircut, and read a book. Today I went out for dim sum and baked little holiday snow cones (see below). Now I'm feeling really sleepy because I just took my cough syrup. Good night!

Gotta watch out for the little cute ones when they're sick. Sorry to hear it got you and you had to go into work when you were still sick. I sure hope they appreciate you and all you do.

aw, sucks to be sick! i've caught the flu as well, probably from one of my patients. i was home today (also went to the doc's) and will be taking tomorrow off as well... i hate it too =/

I usually skip the doc for a cold. I know it'll go away eventually. Good to hear you're feeling better.

Super straight forward and blunt. I'm the friend that tells you that you look like sh*t at the end of a long day at work (and then I help you fix your hair). I can be pretty intimidating, but everyone around me knows that I'm one of the nicest people they'll ever meet. I can talk to anyone, anywhere, on just about anything that comes to my mind at the moment. I'm a Cancer so I can get along with practically anyone. At this moment in life, I can say that the smartest decision I ever made was to study abroad in Hong Kong, where all I did was shop, eat, party, and travel for a year (but don't tell my parents that). I'm super addicted to girly books (I love Sophie Kinsella) and was recently tricked into reading my first romance novel(it's like porn on books). I truly believe that I am destined to be a photographer, food critic, or an event planner, but somehow landed in banking and finance. I'm an impulsive shopper (last year I bought a PSP and now it's just sitting on my book shelf). I have a passion for food and I love trying new restaurants. I once told a friend "if we weren't working together we would never be friends because you can't eat garlic." My friends appreciate food. For some odd reason (I still haven't figured out what) I have the shortest attention span when it comes to the guys I date. I can be staring at my cell phone when it rings, but I'll never pick it up. I'm addicted to buying Chinese DVDs. I'm allergic to lychee, but I eat it anyways. I can't stand pretentious people, I rather respect you for your b*tchy a**hole selves. I learned how to read and speak Mandarin by watching tv. I once told a Congressmen to get off my seat at a conference in capitol hill. I'm not on facebook.
