Jet Skiing & Earthquake

Hello AnD! Gosh it feels like forever since I've last written a blog. Life has been pretty uneventful lately, nothing buy work, work, and more work. Finally, this past weekend my friend's parents invited me and another friend, ML,  to go jet skiing with them.

There was a waterslide in the hotel.


After four hours of driving, we arrived at the Blue Water Hotel and Casino in Parker, Arizona. Since it was really late when we got there, I was a little confused as to where we were going to jet ski. The last piece of land that I saw clearly before the sunset looked a lot like dry desert to me. However, all questions were answered when I woke Saturday morning and pulled aside the curtains. There was huge lake right in front of us.



My friend's brother and boyfriend set up a canopy along the lake and unloaded the jet skis. We chilled outside for most of day and took turns taking the jet skis out. OMG! It was some 100 plus degrees outside. The heat drove me crazy. I drank so much water and at about 2:30 pm I just couldn't take it anymore. I walked back to the hotel and took a nap in out air conditioned room.



Later on in the evening, we ate at the buffet downstairs. I didn't expect much of the food because it wasn't a fancy hotel or anything, but the prime rib was pretty tasty. I loved the brownies they had for dessert. It was probably very fattening, but it just tasted so good with my vanilla ice cream. Yum! Pretty good for just $12.99 per person.

The night view was pretty too.


We had some major X-Files fans in the group, so we caught a 10:30 showing at the hotel theater. Guess what? I only had to pay $8 for my ticket and only $3 for my large coke. Can you believe that? I haven't paid $3 for a soda at the movie theaters since I was about 5.

The next day, we split off with my friend's family and drove to Lake Havasu to see the London Bridge. I've been there before when I was kid on one of those Asian tours with my parents, but I thought...what the heck. Can't hurt to see it again since we're so close anyways. I was also not in the mood to go jet skiing the second day. I was so tired. Who knew that grasping the gas thingy on the handle can cause your arm to be so sore the next day? I didn't. Then on our way back, we stopped by the Desert Hills outlets. I bought myself a new pair of shoes from Nike Town. I've already worn them twice to go work out. New work out gear is such a great motivation to exercise more.


Today around lunch time, everything in my office started to shake. We had an earthquake. It was a small one, but it dragged on forever. Luckily, I was about 40 miles away from the epicenter. I heard on the news that the folks in Las Vegas felt the shake too. Everyone in the office had a great laugh when the security lady came on the loudspeaker. She sounded so stressed out. Her voice was shaking while she announced "please stay calm." I think some that were calm probably started freaking out when they heard her voice.
