Last night I attended a MBA forum with my friend to get some info on different business schools, which GMAT prep courses to take, and the application process. I'm really glad I took the time to check the forum out. I haven't really done much research on MBA programs but I thought it was going to be same as choosing undergraduate school...you aim for the best school that you can get into and nothing else matters. Well at least that was the mindset among the top students at my high school (which included me ). I don't know if it was luck or something but my friend and I met this awesome alumni from Georgetown. She gave us some really good insight about business school life and what we should be looking for in addition to rankings.

There was also a discussion panel where alumnae from different schools were talking about their experiences and why they decided to apply for an MBA. In the middle of the discussion, there was a woman in the audience that started to run around the room. She had a very confused and frightened expression on her face. At first I thought she was choking because she was holding onto her throat. Then I thought she was going to have a seizure because the last time I saw someone run around like her was while I was in college and it was this girl that knew she was going to have a seizure. Later I heard the woman was a diabetic and her blood sugar level dropped too low...that's why she was running around confused.

I don't know if I'm over doing the whole networking thing, but I emailed almost everyone that I got a business card from. I just don't want these admissions people and alumnae to forget that there is a Rennie out there and to look keep an out for my application.

    I'm tired. Good night.

There's no such thing as too much networking.  Learn as much as possible to make an informed decision on where you want to go.

Good for you!  I used to think rank is very important, but now i think the tuition and timing are more important!  My boss tells me how, starting last Fall, all her husband's MBA school friends lost their jobs.  They just graduated 2 yrs ago!  i don't know what i could do if i had 200K in debt and no job.  ~_~"  i guess the best bet is to not go into finance!!

sounds interesting... it's great to get good help / insight =)

but the incident about the lady was kinda scary... my grandma is a diabetic and when her sugar level was too low, we make her drink apple juice... =)
