Serena's hurt

Sometimes when you really admire someone for their art, talent, craft (whatever you wanna call it), maybe it's best you don't meet them in person because it's true what they say - people may not be who they seem.

I'll rule it out as jet-lag; or maybe because you're so gifted, you're not so people-oriented (which I think is absolute bullshit).

Here's what I realized having been in the biz for about 10 years (which I think is long enough, what d'ya think?) - some people do, in fact, live in their own little bubble.

Blame it on harassment from the media/ paparazzi; blame it on the fact that, yes, most people wanna get close to you just cuz you're hot/ famous/ there's so much hype about you; blame it on the fact that maybe sometimes, you can't tell the difference, and therefore can't recognize that another person is genuinely only trying to tell you that you'd made a difference in their life based solely on the fact that you're gifted and your craft has done just that.

Either way, my regard for you has changed somewhat.
I'm hurt that all you could afford was a cold "thanks" and a swift turn of the back towards me.

On a brighter note, maybe they're not as jaded yet (and I hope that doesn't happen cuz it would just suck) because they launched into a half-hour conversation with me when all I said was, "I really enjoyed your performance, welcome to Malaysia."
