Whew!

Well, good news. We found the bride's iPod. Turns out we'd been in the dining area in between the time we connected it to her laptop and before we left. We'd decided we'd swap tables with another bunch because the table at the end was going to be in the way of a screen during a video screening, and seeing as two thirds of our family (everyone 'cept mum and dad!) were going to be busy doing stuff at the time, and wouldn't be at our table, we thought it easiest if our table was the one that had to move. So, when we'd swapped all the place settings (everyone got given those Chinese takeaway boxes filled with sweets), I'd put her iPod down on the table.

I practically cried when my brother said "here it is!" We had less than 10 minutes to get to her parents place before the guys arrived for the traditional Chinese get-past-the-girls-to-get-the-bride fun. We arrived late, but I think they were waiting for us, cos they said the guys were waiting at the top of the suburb. The bride was too nervous to give me any sort of reaction when I showed her her iPod, but I practically cried again when she told me to hold on to it til the end of the night. Honey, I've just proved that I'm not that trustworthy!

I'm not sure the bride's brother and sister-in-law were really sure what to do when the groom arrived at the door. He kept asking questions, but was coming up with the questions on the spot. I was at the door for the first half, but went back to stand with the bride for the rest of it. Then we were told to close the door to the room we were in. I didn't know what to do to hold him off when he got to our door, so I just settled for making him tell me and my younger sister apart. A lot of people get us mixed up. Our friends don't. I mean that both mutually and separately. But our parents' friends (including those who've known us for a long time, but haven't seen us for a while) still sometimes mix us up. And acquaintances or friends who don't see us that often. Basically, we were hoping he wasn't familiar enough with us to tell, but he didn't even hesitate!

Anyways, other than the little hiccup with the iPod, everything went really smoothly. The wedding was beautiful and the bride looked gorgeous.

I'm just glad she got her iPod back.
