    A few days ago, I heard about how drinking from plastic bottles can be harmful.  According to this article, certain plastic bottles contain a chemical called Bisphenol A which can affect reproductive and fertility in both male and female organisms.  The article also stated that bottles with the numbers 3, 6 or 7 has the potential to release the chemical.  This is good to know, afterwards I checked the bottled water I normally drink.... it has number 1.  Hmm, does this mean that all plastic bottles with numbers other than 3,6 or 7 are safe? 

    Also, I remember reading another article some time ago that stated the bottle is safe as long as the number is 5 or higher.  This one I think is a hoax as I got it in an email forward.  The results of a study conducted on plastic bottles are to be released soon.  I hope, by then, everything will be cleared up.  These conflicting reports are  confusing.

    I drink from plastic bottles at work everyday, which I'll probably start pouring out into a cup (a plastic cup? Glass?) from now on.   Who would have thought that something as simple as drinking from a plastic bottle could be harmful?!!  At home, we sometimes re-use the big plastic juice/water bottles to store water.  This is something that we need to change as well.

    Yes I recently heard about this too. Very very scary, since I drink from plastic bottles all the time!

    i've only heard that storing water in plastic containers in the fridge is not safe.  There's some free particles that are released from the bottles i guess?  i wish that there's more formal testing on such claims!

    It's pretty scary to think that what we drink from can be potentially dangerous. I better try to use more glass now when I can.

    this is actually pretty scarey.. considering i am in china and there is more than its fair share of plastic here!

    Yeah I've been drinking bottled water for years but I remember reading the potential harmful chemicals in the bottles. I need to start using a glass instead.

    waa...thats for making us aware. I do drink quite alot of bottle water. Where can I find the number? I could not trace one apart from 23 at the bottom.

    I used to microwave a cup of water in the mornings to go with my breakfast. I'd been doing that for a few years. Doh!!! Major bad! I've probably got cancer now from drinking water that's not really water anymore. =(

    I drink filtered water in a glass mug.

    just a little something you should be aware of -
    Disposable water bottles use energy and resources to make the plastic, and most ironic of all they use a lot of water. For every litre of water a person drinks from a water bottle there are five litres of water wasted in the production process of making the bottle.

    Water is not the only precious resource that is being wasted - crude oil is also used to make the bottles. Every year, the global bottled water industry uses 42 million barrels of oil in the production of water bottles.

    That's not to mention the hugh waste issue water bottles are now creating.

    hmmm. i drink it everyday too.........
    so what are we suppose to do????
    even the waters arrive in plastic bottles......
