Been busy with work lately. Not much time to do other stuff even eat or sleep. However, on valentine's day, I attended an exhibition launch in Ampang NN gallery. This new exhibition name "rising dream" featured 3 young artist's work which is Hee Chee Way, Siund Tan and Tan Chee Hon. Each of them got their own individualistic.
Chee way's work is more on digital art & used mixed media. Majority of it is black and white series. Frankly, I personally always told him, I prefer it to be more colourful so the mas market could accept it easily. But as usual artist and designer's kinda have different objective. He stick to his believe and do what he think is the best. I quite suprise with the final outcome. Where the texture and patterns appear to be quite contemporary.

It quite nice to hang them on the wall. I gotto giv him a thumbs up for his great work!
Here is the close up of his work

Though chee way is my bf but i won't side him. I like Siund's work more. His colours usage and style is more interesting. Note: lately i am into retro colour stuff. In addition, audience get the msgs from his work. Direct and straight forward.

Who else is there, oil on canvas, 76cm x 76cm, 2008
Last is Tan Chee Hon. He is a nice man which is a photograph enthusiast. He said he is consider old school artist which prefer using old technique... buthen from my point of view, he is quite experimental. He is not as old school as he tot he is. Some said his oil painting is like a photograph which i do agree. I didn't realise it until someone pointed out.
His painting painted very smoothly and colour with colour merged nicely. Then made me wonder, Something too perfect will it lost it attractiveness? That's why some ancient sculpture will purposely destroy or spoilt part of their work in order to made it more mysterious looking and more thinking process going on in audience mind? 缺陷美。。。
Tan Chee Hon, In The Land mixed media on oil paper, 35.5cm x 25.5cm, 2008
Tan Chee Hon, The Burning, oil on linen,117cm x 71cm,2009

This is more innovative kinda approach. He painted another layer on the photograph that he took. I like the other piece where can see the combination of photograph and painting more.
