next, thanks to w-bird for your compliment on my headshot. *smile*
so, here i explain my 'thoughts'.

been talking with friends, and thinking.
now i'm motivated in moving to another place.
    my choice, Japan or Korea.
decision: Korea. (cause Japan will be too expensive. Korea is still a neighbour of Japan!)

reason: i like to explore. i wanna do something new. (my randomness syndrome)
with my working Visa expires next year September, i either get a new lawyer to renew it in March next year, or i just go home to Malaysia.
of course if i manage to stay in US, i'll stay. but if i'm going home, it's also a new start for me.
so thought to self, why not just start at a new place?
not tht i hate my country...but really, Malaysia has nothing tht really 'wow' me in a way. i guess i grew up there...so...and of course i never forget bout my family. but i can't settle until i have done certain things i wanted to. if not, i'll just be 'unsettling' even though i decide to 'settle' down. tht's not a dilemma i want to go through with the rest of my life.

why Korea? i have never been there! i asked myself.
still, why US the first place? i never been here before as well!!!
i like Korea/Japan culture. colorful. rich (not as in wealth). asian. FOOD!!!!!!!!!

US...i don't know why doesn't motivate me to learn bout the culture here. not even interested in its history...i feel really bad being here so far. cause it seems i didn't really appreciate the country. but i DO appreciate it. the design and ppl i have met here all are wonderful. i really love it here...but seems like nothing is motivating me now. before my goal is to come NY, and i came. i experience. I LOVE IT! but, now i still want another goal. (i know...i'm so greedy) *sigh*

anyway, another reason is cause i find NY ppl only get to know each other by hanging out at nightlife scene. of course i can always try another state. but transportation issue (one reason i came NY, subway. haha!). money involves as well. again, why not just spend the money and go somewhere completely new?

Korea Korea Korea. food. i love it. scenery. things look petite, suits me. whereas NY are big tall buildings. hahah!!! i think i have enough of NY/US. for now i think i'm...but i'm not sure yet...tht's what cause my thoughtful week. but laying down in central park, looking up the sky...i felt good. and random things came flowing in. i'm motivated. energy flows in..then come this blog.

so far, postive energy is still flowing in my plan of working towards moving to Korea.
going to look for alumni there through my professor.
my roommate has family friends there. he's American Korean.
    looking up language school.
    also, researching bout Korea.

i wanna expand my design knowledge to a new place.
enough designer in US, and of course Japan.
going to Japan will be harder for me to fight and compete with all the great great designers.
i probably have more chance in Korea. right??? hahaha!!!
oh, and i like country with season. tht's another thing tht motivates me to move Korea instead of Malaysia. though i heard summer is usually cloudy and grey, but ah well, it's kinda same in Savannah. but it's Korea! so much more for me to explore!

    anyway, now i'm happy happy!!!

do i sound crazy so far?
what can i do..it comes in my last name!
    --

of course there are a lot of worries tht i'm still condsidering..like finance (as everything does).
i blogged bout my dad retire/lost his job, now i'm the only one providing income to my family. yet i'm still at my adventurous heart...what should i do? i haven't even able to send money back to my parents. i'm only enough to raise my own living/life.

am i being disrespectful to my family? should i be going back to Malaysia and settle so i can really be fulfilling my duty in return for my parents' years of raising me to where i stand now?
i know i'm not young anymore...but still so many things i wanna do...should i just sacrifice?

but one thing i'm sure now is tht i'm not going to go think bout meeting the 'special' someone. i'm fine being myself. probably easier. but who knows what will happen. thus, so far, those are wipe clean in my head. everybody stays FRIEND! i don't need more things to think bout! (YAY!)

    so?
    please, advice!
anything! better if someone who's familiar with Korea, TELL ME TELL ME!!!!

I grew up in the US, so let me tell ya...I'm so bored here! If I didn't have to worry about finances and visas, I would just pack my bags and move to Hong Kong. If you should decided to move to another city in the US that's transportation friendly, I would suggest San Francisco. People are so much more nicer than the folks you run into in NY. DC is really transportation friendly too, but it's hella boring there. You're still young and you should explore as much as you can.

About the whole fulfilling your family duties part, personally, I think you're doing a lot by not asking your parents to (financially) support your adventures. I'm sure they're proud to have a raise such an independent daughter. In the future maybe you can just set aside a set amount each month to send back to your family. My dad always said that he's just glad that I'm able to support myself now (minus paying for my auto insurance which I'm actually going to start doing next month) even though I live in their house. He's like "at least you don't stick your hand out and ask for money at this age."

I'm not gonna say go or stay b/c I feel the same way you do... after I graduated, I really wanted to go some place else... like Hong Kong... but I also felt bad b/c the whole time I was in school, my mom and aunt supported me without having me to work... (spoiled, I know...) so I felt bad for leaving right away.. I am visiting HK end of the year for fun and looking to see what kind of work possibilities are there... I think exploring is in the designer's heart/mind...

it's a big move so really think about it first... =)

You're welcome for the shortbread. Thought you needed a pick-me-up and a reminder that I think you're a sweetie.

Are you giving NY a chance, really? Imo, I'm not sure picking up and flitting away to someplace else will give you the sense of purpose you're looking for. Should you try to get with the professional crowd w/ more creative people? Maybe meet people through a community college course or association or something? I know...not more school. Maybe just gotta revise the approach. *shrugs*
