A wise man once said the following thing:

"...It is better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt completely..."

Ever since I read those words a couple of years ago, it has become a kind of personal motto for me. For this reason, I've always avoided writing my own blog and contributing to that vast wasteland of voiceless voices and gibberish that is already abundant on the web these days. I simply don't think I have anything newer to say about anything than all the things that has been said and done. Besides, I don't even think my life is that particularly interesting that I should share the details with anyone...

But then again...I'm just thinking too much...

I'll try...to write...something that maybe some of you will find at least half-decent...

D'oh, I know I've heard/read the quote you referred to, but I couldn't find it readily. Though, similar one is: "Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue." (Proverbs 17:28 - NIV) Thanks for sharing, well said.

felt the same way you did about blogging... but I've found that blogging doesn't have to be about yourself... it can be things that affect you in some way or another... it can be interesting... =) its a good way to connect with others in this awesome community... =)

I know what you mean, I look at blogging a lot of the time as a journal for myself - it's kind of relieving to pull my thoughts out into words.

another good quote is 'if a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, did it make a sound?' -- my view is if there's something interesting, but you never tell anyone, then you might as well not have done it! (ok, thats a stretch...but thats my view on it).

Interesting perspective. Even if I tried to go by that motto I don't think it will work for me, I sometimes find myself talking an aweful lot -to familiar people of course :p

I'm sure your life is quite interesting....because everyone's life is interesting in his/her own way.

You don't have to blog about the things that you think are interesting...you can blog about your favorite pair of shoes, blow off some steam, your crush, your new cell phone, etc, etc. Hmm...well I guess those are things that you might interested in.

:D I used to think the same. So I became someone to feels action speaks more louder than words. As I grew up, I felt people just tend to shut me off as I always 'stand' behind, I felt I needed to be heard sometimes. So I put in both words and action :D

Blogging is just a way to 'relief'. The great part is, you blog when you want and what you want :D

that quote really does make a lot of sense...it's the reason why I never talk much in front of people I don't know very well - it's okay if you talk a lot in front of people you're close with, they already know you're an idiot, and they don't mind. =P

I think writing is quite different though, you can edit what you write, you can't edit what you say.

hmm... once thought that quote's very true, still sometimes. But, there're times that we really need to voice out for ourselves or just express your own feelings. Don't you feel better?

Writing blog can be in many ways, mine is more descriptive... writing on events or... nothing too personal. Just write whenever you feel like and whatever you wanna share. It could be a good way to let others know more about you. You just had your first step out ;D Keep it up!
