Right before the US Presidential Election some people here posted up some blogs about Obama,  they asked "What will he change?"  and they implied that he was all rhetoric and no substance.

I tried to respond with a number of important things that Obama had vowed to change.  The number one issue in my book was to undo the politicization of the government that the Bush administration had put in place. The Bush administration used political ideology and cronyism  as factors in their hiring and firing of people from career government positions in many departments, including the Department of State, Department of Justice, NASA, etc.  (there are some really bad examples where they chose people to send to run the US reconstruction efforts in Iraq based on their views on abortion, etc... and then there was Brownie...).

Anyway,  its nice to see that change won out and things are changing:

I'm sure there will be and more cases like this coming to light...

joanne - in my mind it almost was "anyone but Bush"...  Obama would be doing the world a great favor just to return to non-Bush policies, anything beyond that is a bonus in my book. ;-)

Things like this and fixing the broken 'war tribunal' courts that Bush set up are two big steps forward!

Maybe people just feared that he would be like many leaders, all promises no action, they need to give the guy a chance, at least he's making decisions and the right ones, it's no wonder he is now considered the biggest target for assassination, people fear change, and with Bush that was never a problem, whereas Obama is taking charge, I think Bush was being very much led by others behind the scene.

I just watched Milk the other night and it's amazing that that type of discrimination is still so prevalent.  I'm glad she got her job back.

So far, so good for Obama.

Dunno why that title confused me at first.  I was thinking "No Obama's a super anti gay person as well?" but I read the article and figured out my mistake heh.  Glad they rehired her, pretty stupid to fire someone for that.  But I guess we are talking about Bush...Bush and stupidity go together almost too well.
