for the first time in a long time I made pancakes...

technically this is the first food I've actually cooked at my new apartment too... only took me 5 weeks! ;-)

(not sure why, but I used to make pancakes at home all the time when i lived in Japan).

The title says pancakeS. I see only one =O

Try adding fruit juice or milk (chocolate milk?) for better flavor. I started a tradition a couple years ago--we have pancakes for dinner every Monday. I add blueberries to my pancakes ;)

I can never get instant mixes that actually make a decent tasting pancake.
You haven't cooked in apartment for 5 weeks! geez you must be seriously ran off your feet with work and fun!

torpedo - actually i used an instant mix, ("just add water!"), it didn't taste particularly good. i'm a stickler for good real maple syrup, but it wasn't enough to save the taste on these things. :-P
