Singapore Weekend - 1

typing this up on my way back.  its been a pretty jam packed weekend. it was supposed to be a relatively relaxing weekend, but didn't turn out that way of course. we had lots of fun in singapore -  i didn't get in til really late on friday, so i didn't do anything til saturday afternoon - 

私は帰った時書いて居た。この週末は忙しかった、静か旅行をしたいけど、もちろんにぎやかでした。でもとても楽しかった！金曜日夜とても遅着きました、それから直接ホテルに行って寝た。次の午後時パット君と一緒面白店へ行った。トローリーと言います。面白デサイナーギーフト一杯が有る。この所の店長もとても綺麗です。

Pat and I went to check out 'Trolley',  a cool designer goods boutique that happens to be owned by my favorite Singaporean actress, Miss Mindee Ong.  Its got lots of cool household products and gifts.  I recommend everyone check it out! (especially the retro phonograph passive ipod amplifier thing!)

その後店長と一緒食事した。ハイナンチケンライス(海南雞飯)を食べた。美味しかったよ！
Mindee was kind enough to take Patrick and I out for some local cusine - in this case Hainan  Chicken...  a bit different than how they serve it in HK.  it was quite good!

Patrick was able to organize a last minute get-together with some of the artists based in Singapore.  Considering the late notice, the turnout was quite impressive. 　今夜もシンガポールの芸能人会もした。人一杯も参加した。楽しかったよ。


Believe it or not, I was so busy meeting new people that I didn't really take many pictures!

I was happy to finally get to meet Ryan of the What's Good Conspiracy.

I have to admit, all through dinner i was telling Mindee and Patrick that the artist i most wanted to meet in Singapore (besides Mindee) was Allan Wu:

He told us he might be a bit late,  so I was all prepared to greet him by saying:  "Allan,  you are the last to arrive,  I'm sad to say you have been eliminated"

I had a long list of The Amazing Race Asia related questions to ask him...  stuff you always wonder about when watching but they never quite explain... amongst other things I gleaned a few important things like:

* they give them a certain minimum allowance per leg that varies depending on the country and the tasks.
* they do have to stay together at all times when not doing roadblocks
* they have to read the clues together.
* there's definitely a lot of mental exaustion at play
* yes Sam and Vince are nice guys -- i knew that already actually!.   

Unfortunately since I met Allan in person now, I think that pretty much prohibits me from ever competing in TARA forever after... doh.  Maybe they'll do a 'celebrity TARA' special edition and I can convince an artist from the site to be my partner. ;-)
