i almost had to punch him...

occasionally i have strange things happen to me that are hard to believe...

there's a super market near my new house that is open til midnight.  at around 11:15pm I went there to pick up some food...  while i was pushing my cart through the aisles this guy (older looking skinny Hongkie)  comes up to me while pushing a cart, he has a plastic thing in his hand that looks like a triangle with a handle on one side and a hook on the other side.    He says something like "hey let me show you this,  its a handle for holding plastic bags so they don't hurt your hands! they're great, my friend designed them! are you interested in them?"  

I was a bit taken aback at the thought of one customer trying to sell something to another customer inside of a store... its never happened to me in HK before for sure...    I motioned towards the reusable cloth bag in my cart and said "no thanks I don't need it"....

But the weird thing is the guy wouldn't stop!  he had this retarded smile on his face and he started saying how you can use them for all kinds of stuff... "like holding your dog leash!"  I said "no thanks" again and tried ignoring him and focus on my cereal shopping, but he was still talking!  "they can hold three bags each!" and "you can use them for self defense too!"  (I was really tempted to challenge him on this but i thought it best to ignore him...   eventually he stopped.

about 10 minutes later i finished my shopping.  Unfortunately there was only one line open and I had to get behind the guy in the line...   well he WAS using his hook things,  I'll give him that.  I tried to avoid eye contact since I was afraid he would try to talk to me more about his wonderful plastic handles...

as the cashier was ringing me up,  he started again talking about the fricking handles. I couldn't believe it.  I said to the cashier "my god, he is insane!"    and finally after the second or third wonderful use out of his mouth, I finally had enough...

I was like "what the hell is wrong with you? do you always do this when you go shopping?  harass people to buy your stupid plastic hooks?!"

he just had the stupid grin on his face...  i was seriously tempted to punch him... 


anyway,  i'm installing software on my new laptop....  I got it in MK tonight w/ a little help from Rosanne.  Unfortunately i had to miss Audiotraffic's show because I had to wait for them to downgrade it to XP from Vista.  :-P
