    Here's a contribution from another blogger Satz (I like the humor, so I'm adding it to the post) =D ...




    1. How bad are things? It is just beginning to get bad.

    2. With wage expectations and costs of living/healthcare prohibitive to lower wages, double the amount of existing American dollars will need to be printed. This means the value of money will be decreased and people will need to work harder to be able to afford the same. This move will create a unique effect on solving the cost of labor. By devaluing the currency, everyone will be forced to accept lowered wages.

    3. Of course, there is the constant witch hunt for 'who did it' and the Bank of America subpeona is a prime example of more to come. It is interesting how many millionaires were created during the financial fallout. What has the world come to?

    4. Thoughts? Worried at work? Maybe you should fire yourself and get an early start. At least your in control of who is getting fired. This is what some experts have suggested: Some of the best companies have resulted from founders deciding to fire themselves before they were axed.

    I love the pseudo science in that clip.  Really Gordon, who to believe on all this?  People have the instinct to hunker down and ride out the storm.  That's gonna be hard to dislodge.

    Dang i just realised that the video that Gordon posted was the same one I posted. Goes to show how much I actually paid attention to this. But at least we had the same idea!!!

    Di, if teachers did that here they would most probably die. They are always bitching at the government to give them more money when most of them don't deserve it. And when Labour gets in flanked by Union cronies they spend more time on strike than they do in the classroom teaching. And, of course, Labour always gives people what they want, more over what we actually need. Chuckin money left, right and centre, and then wonder why we have no money and then up goes foreign debt. I really hate Labour governments all they do is fuck things up. And to think that our last Prim Minister spent/wasted - whichever way you want to look at it, 10 years paying off debts and gaining surplus, for what? Labour to fritter it way like candy to a bunch of children. And if you look at statistics here, Labour is the biggest fuck-ups to our economy than anyone else.

    On the local evening news today, our state governor has suggested that teachers work days without pay, in order to help balance the state budget >.<

    Many advisers have suggested that as gahuja suggests, we should just move on and keep spending to keep things going. However, other contrarians have said, it isn't the fault of the people but instead certain greedy folk that have ruined the trust and goodwill. Therefore, there is no way to go back to before, we must devalue and revalue everything. Will things get worse ... well we are not farmers and so we cannot grow our own food. If it gets bad, you're in a city and the mailboat/food supplies dwindle ... it would not be good. This sounds like some kind of movie but instead we're in the movie right now. All we can do is to stick together, weed out the bad apples and be transparent and responsible going forward.

    Things are bad, very bad, the worst in fact, that we've seen in a long while.  But the more we focus on the risks and downside, the more it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.  Being a financial adviser by day, my view on the only way through this is to largely ignore it.  Sure, be wary.  But not scared.  Fear leads to everyone pulling up stumps and acting irrationally.  In fact, acting irrationally is how we ended up in this mess in the first place!
