When I was in HK, a friend gave me a piece of the 鳳梨酥 (Pineapple Cake) and it was YUMMY!!! But I only got one piece. hahaa... I wanted to buy some but they only sell it in Taiwan, or at least that's what I was told.

Since then I've been searching for it. But no luck in finding it. Instead, I tried a different brand. It's not bad but it's not the same. Or I'm just too dang picky. haha...

This past weekend, we went out towards Embarcadero / Ferry Building and I was looking for the Farmer's Market so I can get me some Kettle Popcorn. And of all days I decide to go, there is no Farmer's Market. But later that day we went to Farmer's Market near City Hall and bought the last bag of Kettle Popcorn. HAHA!!

These are my lastest cravings...

I wish I'd know earlier that you liked these. One of Mr. B's colleagues came back from Taiwan recently and gave us a box. We don't really care for them so I gave them away. I would've sent them to you instead had I known.

i love pineapple cake too... BUT make sure they don't contain MELAMINE!!!... even lotte koala bear chocolate cookies from HK/ japan and pizza hut cheese have been found to contain MELAMINE!!! =0 take care and don't eat TOO much- wherever it's made in asia! =/

Yep from Taiwan. Tat time went on Taipei tour, they brought us to this little hill place called Jiu3 Fen4 i think, they make fresh pineapple cakes :)

I love to buy 鳳梨酥 (Pineapple Cake) as gifts for friends in SZ /HK when I went back to Taiwan. U can try 新東陽 brand. It has been sold in Taiwan airport too, but in a very fancy box, and of course more expensive; I usually bought it fm. local supermarket, same thing but not in fancy box only.

Kettle Korn (as it's called up here) is delicious!!! It's very difficult to stop eating the whole thing in one sitting....now I'm craving it! haha!

Don't think I've tasted this. Lynn sent me some pineapple tarts from Singapore. Those were yummy. Hope you find the brand you're looking for.

Those pineapple cakes, in my opinion, are one of the very best Chinese pastries in the world. But it does make a big diff which brand. Unfortunately, I don't remember what the good brand is! How about the one in your pic, Casamia?
