    I'm actually really excited about the Olympics this year... these past years I've been into the sport events... I think it started when I watched the Winter Olympics... then watched the World Cup... so now I look forward to Olympics... wanna see the diving, track-and-field... (what else is there? ) anyhoo...

    there's also the Paralympics... but they get less attention... even though I think they should have the same attention if not more... the athletes are to be applauded for all their hardwork...

    Found this music video by Andy Lau... the song is dedicated to the athletes of the Paralympics... I remember he had another song (probably 4 years ago) that was also dedicated to them... if I'm not wrong, I first found out about the Paralympics thru that music video... made me teary-eyed b/c its tough watching these athletes try so hard to compete in their sporting event even though they are handicap...

    Andy Lau did a superb job in this video... there's a full/long version to it, but I'll just post up the short version... hope you enjoy it too!!~

    I cry at the paralympics, you see all the stink and tantrums that some of the olympic stars do, and then we see the paralympics and see courage beyond our expectations, they are amazing. They so much deserve recognition.

    (this is the first time I have seen this video....I got teary eyed...soppy I know).It reminds me a lot of 'Standing outside the fire' by garth brooks

    Can't wait for the olympics!

    I totally agree with! The Paralympics ought to get more attention.
    In Australia, mega dollars are thrown in to promote the Olympics, and when that's over, minimal effort is invested towards cheering for the brave and persistent souls who challenge their way through the Paralympics.

    I love the winter olympics - figure skating is like an art! I like looking at the fancy silky clothes the skaters wear and their style of skating... it looks so beautiful..

    Yes, I agree, its a shame the paraolympics don't get media attention.  Its the same catch 22 as women's sports.  The media don't think the public is interested so don't give it much coverage but because there is no media build up the public arn't interested.    The men and women atheletes at the para olympics work just has hard as anybody else.  Interestingly, just recently, people with prosethtic limbs have been barred from events (I can't remember which one) because modern prosethetic limbs are more effecient than human limbs and it gives the competitors an advantage.
