Last night was the Opening Reception for the student design exhibit at San Francisco State University. A few of us got together and went to Chevy's for dinner and then went to the exhibit. We wanted to "critique" how well the exhibit was put together this year. I took the exhibit class last year so I know how much work goes into making the exhibit happen. And I remember last year, no one in the department thought we were gonna pull it off, but we did and we stunned them. HAHA!!!~

anyway, the show was great but I was surprised that the turn-out wasn't as great as last year though... but it seemed there weren't as much stuff on display too... Last year we had too much work submitted that we couldn't display everything and ended up having to rotate some of the work on display. Well, here are some pictures I managed to "snap" in-between the conversations I had with teachers and friends.

We thought the light fixture for Oculus was kinda cool, but reminded us of a night club.

These are graphic design posters for the typography class.

These were interesting flower "posters."

Perfume bottles for the model development class (I think).

Furniture! They had some awesome looking table pieces built by product designers. AWESOME!!!!~

This is my favorite poster from the show. Really love the colors and the style of it. It caught my eye and I had to snap a pic of it for inspiration. hahaa...

Yesterday I had to stop by school before dinner b/c the department office closes at 5pm. I had to pick up my portfolio that a friend borrowed a year ago... hahaa... yesterday was the first time I walked into the Fine Arts building since graduation (a year ago) and I felt so outta place. When I walked into the building, some students were sitting on the chairs they had in the lobby and they gave me the glaring eyes, kinda like, "Who is still weird looking girl walking into "our" department" oh it was weird... I guess a lot of the people I know, already graduated... so I felt like a complete stranger... hahaa...

OH! I got good exercise yesterday, the walk to Stonestown and back to SFSU and then up the stairs to the exhibit and back down and up to 19th Avenue worked up quite a sweat on a rather warm day in San Francisco... hahaa... I am so outta shape...

Yeah, I wish I had caught you! The works of art were very inspiring, so many different perspectives. So creative! I had an event to attend to afterwards.. thanks for sharing your favorites! When is the next event? Which types of artwork are your favorites to create for yourself?

I like the light fixture but can see the nightclub factor of it. Looked like a great first night of the show, I like the table design.
It is surprising that just how much you can feel out of place going back to an education hub.
I managed to donate through red cross uk. I hope it's gone through, it's not shown up as debited from my account yet though. :(

Have you found your once-in-a-lifetime friend? be sure to not lose that friend. My once-in-a-lifetime friend is my mom. She's totally awesome because she's more like a sister/friend to me. We are really close and I love her so much!!
