On Sunday I bought the DVD for the documentary--
This Darling Life.

I was deeply touched by the stories in this documentary. Especially the two people who runs private shelters in Hong Kong. One of them having 100 dogs and 70 cats! Despite her busy time as a wife and a mom, she still finds a few hours each day to help keep the shelter clean. And the other guy, he said that if you ask him what he hates most, he said he hates the dogs because they take up so much of his time. Even though he hates them, he said he can't stand to see them get killed. So he's still working hard to maintain the shelter.

Another story was about a puppy... the poor puppy was close to death when his four legs were cut to the bone and was left in the creek. But luckily someone found the poor puppy and rescued him. With much care and time, the puppy was okay but he limps when he walks. They even showed pictures of the gruesome abuse. *sigh* how can someone do such a thing.

Anyway, this documentary brings a new look into life. I think it's worth watching but it will definitely bring some tears.

On another note, two years ago yesterday was when we lost HakMui. And last night I had a dream that she came home to us. And I remember hugging her so hard and telling her that I miss her. I woke up this morning thinking about the dream. Then I recall the date. What a coincidence that I had this dream on the same date.

This sounds very good and inspirational but I know I wouldn't be able to handle watching the animals getting mistreated.

How incredible that HakMui came to you in your dream on this date. She must've wanted to comfort you.

OMG, thanks for sharing this.....I guess now I feel like I'm not alone :-) I'm still catching up with my feeds but I have more to say and I always love your blogs....will be back. Again, this is quite a blog that hit the right spot for me today.

The brain works in mysterious ways, it must of rememberd the day and decided you needed to know via the dream. *Hugs*

I can't watch this documentary, i would love to, but seeing the abuse on that little dog would infuriate me too much, I hate animal cruelty, I just don't get why people do it :(

oh - i want to watch that too! shall keep a lookout for it here!! i am one who will weep watching these ..

in my old estate, there is a group of underground society for the stray cats too. they make sure the cats are sprayed to keep the population under control. i feel proud of them, and i admire their passion for the less fortunate cats.

many years back, one particular stray cat who frequents my place came limbing to our place one day. i asked the cat committee chairlady for help and later we found out her back limb was delibrately hurted by some insane cruel person! that person actually twisted her leg and her leg bone was facing the back *sobs*

i am sure HakMui is in a better place (pet heaven) and knows you miss her. =D

There was this news regarding a house being burnt down in NT, HK and the owner had 70 cats or sumthing that perished along. It's not that story right? It's just so saddening!!

This looks like a good doc. I was thinking about my dog from elementary school recently, too. It seemed like it hit me after about 20 years that I was upset about it.
