As you may remember, a day or two ago I mentioned that I am looking into buying a compact camera... something for me to carry around EVERYWHERE... hehee... I was thinking about the Sony T200... but the reviews online is like 50/50 (some people say it's the BEST THING ever... some said it sucked and returned it within a few days...) so I don't know... I want to consider other cameras too... I currently have a Canon S2 IS; a 5 megapixel camera... it works good... I love it... but it is rather bulky, which discourages me to carry it at times... so that is why I want to buy an ultra-compact camera...

The only setback I might have about getting a Sony is that Sony has their own line of accessories... such as the memory cards... and even the battery... the Canon I have now uses AA batteries and SD Memory cards... if I go into getting another Canon, I can share what I already have in memory cards and the rechargeable batteries...

but I guess the most appealing thing on the Sony camera is that it's TOUCH-SCREEN... hahaa... I think it's awesome.. hahaa... I've always love the touch-screen things... hahaa... OH! and I like the color too... if I don't get the Red one, I would get a Black one... and I don't know, I want to try other cameras to see what other features the camera might have that I don't have now... but!

I was wondering what kind of cameras do you have? and what are your thoughts about it? Or if you have any recommendations??

Panasonic Lumix, that's what I have and I love it! Mine is an older model, about 2 years old but I think the latest is this one:

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX30K 7.2MP Digital Camera with 3.6x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Black)

Btw, Silver Lake is located at 2291 S El Camino Real in San Mateo. The ambiance is not the greatest but the food and service are great! =)

Currently, I have the IXUS 750..... before I had a Sony Cybershot (don't remember the model).
I want to eventually get a DSLR but they're pretty pricey..... gotta save up for that.  ; )

I like the red one.  =)

when i bought my first digital camera, (cheap kodak brand n i'm still using it... wants new and better ones but no $$$), i needed to do a lot of research. the final question is what's the purpose? if it's to carry around everday, then go compact.

Yeah you definitely want something compact if you're going to tote it around all the time. I've heard good things about Sony's but the proprietary battery and accessories is a drag. I have a Canon SD800 and a Panasonic Lumix DMZ TZ3. I like both but I got the Panasonic for it's killer 10x zoom - handy for baseball games :) Have fun shopping!

i have SONY T100,and i wanna have a CANON one.maybe IXUS series.
honestly,T200'touch screen and color are both realy wonderful,think about it.if you wanna try a new brand not CANON.

my cell phone has that touch-screen feature... heehee.

my camera is old... canon SD200!!! my boyfriend has a really nice new one though... but i don't remember what brand/ make it is! =/

i like the Sony's, i like the exterior and the color...the first factor i consider is the appearance, beautiful or not. hehe...we are not professional camerists, so we don't have such high request, the common ones can do well, i think.

I have a Canon powershot SD700 IS... I love it because it has an image stabilizer :)

You probably shouldn't get something too trendy and compact since they probably don't offer good quality, just good looks :P

Mine is an old olympus. It would be handy to stick with Canon, especially as you can share with the new and old, but I can see what you mean about wanting a slimline. I love Sony products but it's not always the best on the market and 50/50 sounds a bit risky.

I have been using Nikon for the past 5 years. they produce good outdoor pix but doesn't work that great indoors indoors. I've tried a few ranges of the Canon and they produce better indoor pix than Nikon but not outdoor. As for Sony, just my personal opinion, they look great outside but inside is not that user friendly.
