found this in a magazine... www.futureme.org

it's kinda cool... it's a site where you can write a letter to yourself that will be emailed to you at a future date... there are some letters that are posted anonymously on the site... I browsed thru some of it... some are meant to be funny... and some are serious...

then I start thinking... what would I write to myself? I think I would want to write something that will bring me a smile when I read it again... well, I guess anyone would want that, right? hahaa... I found some old "diaries" that I used to write and gosh they were boring... or maybe I should say... it was all the negative things... I think writing is a good outlet for sadness, anger, frustration, etc... but it seems we rarely keep happy moments on paper... unless it was something super super happy... and even when, it seems like details are missed at times... or is that just me? there were some happy diary days... but it seems like I missed some details... *shrugs*

so back to my question... what would I write? I'd definitely want to write down my thoughts on my recent trip to HK... and then include my quote: "Life is Good!" and I hope that in the future I will still agree with the quote... and when would I want to receive the letter? hmm... maybe when I turn 40? *shrugs*

    anything to share?

    ----
I think I do want to write a letter to myself and hide it somewhere and hopefully I will find it in the future... hahaa.... but I don't think I will post it on that site...

I actually wrote one to myself back in high school for psychology class, describing my goals. Received it in the mail five years later. The only thing I accomplished so far was graduating college. Hahaha.

That's cool idea.  I'd actually prefer it if I could get a letter from future me to present me letting me know how things are gonna be later so I can prepare myself :P  I totally agree with you that writing is good way to clear your mind and vent your feelings.

a few weeks ago i was cleaning out my junk. i found a sealed enveloped that had written: DO NOT OPEN UNTIL 2000? (i forgot the exact yr). mind u, we're in 2008 and i still wouldnt have known wat was inside it, if i hadnt' do some cleaning.
but, it was a piece of note, that i've wish to achieve by that date on the envelope. needless to say, i'm still working on it....hhaaha

this sounds useful especially for those who lost their memory due to accidents and all the stuff/info would be recalled. Problem is whether the person can even remember their own email addy to access :P

    Or just a reminder?

oh that's a  very interesting site and nice idea. It's true when we look back at diaries it's usually depressive material with an occasional happy memory. I'm really not sure what I would write, yours would make you smile, especially with the quote.

I think you should definitely go for it.  It will be really interesting.  Yah my dairies were boring I biffed them.  That's what memories, photos and reminincing with friends is for - remembering the good stuff.  Who needs to remember the cr*p.  I don't.
