    this long weekend was quite eventful... I went shopping at the Milipitas Great Mall on Saturday... but I didn't buy anything... I almost did but I didn't and I kinda regret it now...

    I'm looking for a pair of flat boots and I found one at Shoe Pavilion. It was perfect! I have big calves so its extremely hard to look for boots. But this pair actually fits. It's a pair of Dr. Martens. and guess what the price was?


    it was US$39.99!!! I didn't believe at first considering it's Dr. Martens. hahaa... So I was about to buy it; but the one that's in my size was the one on display and it was the last one so I ended up not buying it. Then I came home and did some online shopping for boots. Boots are just expensive. I actually loved the Camper boots... but they're like US$200+.



    and so I decided to measure my calf to see how big it was and none of the boots with the side zipper will fit me. (including the Camper boots) So I have to get the slip-on type boots. And so I decided maybe I should just get the Dr. Martens one because it is very very cheap and most importantly it fits. Checked online and they're selling it for US$100. but not in my size. Looked online for hours and couldn't find it. So Sunday after visiting my aunt, we went to the Shoe Pavilion in SF; they had the same boots but not in my size.  Asked them to help us check another store to see where they might have it. And the rude guy was like "no, we don't do that." and walked away.

    Then today, my mom had a bowling tournament in Livermore. So after bowling, we went to 3 different Shoe Pavilion (Dublin, San Leandro, and San Mateo) in hopes of finding it. None of the stores carried Dr. Martens boots.  Came home and called the other stores in Downtown SF and none of them carried it. I'n giving up. I'll just have to keep searching for flat boots.  I have been looking for years now and I just can't seem to find one to my liking... *sigh*

    it's too bad... should have gotten it...

    Have you found your boots yet Jane?  I hope between the time you blogged about this and now, you found something you like.

    These are soo nice.  I've not seen these here before.  Hopefully you will see them again one day for the same price.  That's really a deal!

    Shoulda woulda coulda.  But you really shoulda...for $40!!!! Hell yes.  I have a similar problem "muscular" calves but also an obscenely high arch so it's hard to get into any boots.  Guess that's why I don't have them.

    $39.99 is a very good deal for Doc Martens.  The look of them has really evolved over the years.  Boots are expensive.  You should try to shop for them after the season for better deals.  Good luck on your search.  You'll probably find them when you least expect it or aren't even looking.  That's how it always works for me.

    Man!  I hate that scenario...sounds like my luck (bad, of course).  That was rude of the salesperson not to help you...

    Good luck...maybe the right boot in your size has yet to enter your life!  =)

    hopefully you will find a pair of boots...good idea to start early...sizes are usually gone by the time it gets cooler.

    That's a good price! Sometimes, even when in doubt, you should just buy the thing bc should you change your mind later, you can return it at the nearest store. =(

    oh! the first one is really cool!! and usd39.99 for dr.martens isn't too bad eh?

    i always end up regretting not buying sumthing i tot was too expensive THEN. and then i come across more that are even more expensive and when i return to the first, they're gone. ALWAYS GONE! lol!

    Yeah you should have got the Dr Martens...never mind. I've done that before regretting it afterwards. Make sure you grab them fast next time hee...keep searching!

    Good deal for the Dr Martens, shame the guy at the store refused t help when asked for help later.
    I have the same problem, I'm a size 7 foot, and my calves are massive, it's hell getting boots. Hope some more turn up for you soon, perhaps coming into winter a better selection will happen.

    Aw, I hate that... I want a nice pair of dress leather boots but that are flat... Can't find them anywhere!  I'd love them for work, since I can't wear heels due to my bad back... sigh

    I always wanted Doc Martens before but could never afford them - but I did have a cool pair of clunky black boots
