  • so what happens now?

    Yesterday my mom bought herself a new bag.  and after she came home she realized she had two receipts in her wallet. One is the customer copy and the other was the store copy with her signature.  so what happens now? Does she still get charged? Or did she just score a free bag?

    but I think she will still be charged right? b/c the receipt is only for records, right?
    any idea?

    I'm pretty sure the charge probably still went would've through on the computer system.

    too bad it wasn't those old school forms where they run your card through that contraption to get an imprint. Remember those? If done wrong...say bye bye to your card.

    she'll get charged unless your mother denies ever signing/ letting her card go through the machine. i hopeshe's an honest citizen (i know she is, since you are one GOOD person!) so unfortunately.... she'll hafta pay. =)

    i think she would still get charged unless ur mom dispute the charge.  If so then the card company may ask the bag store for the signature, and since they don't have the signed receipt then ur mom may not get charged... but that's too complicated.  =P

    think she gets charged. just dunno if the shop will be screwed if the credit card company does a check on them and found there was no receipt that's signed by the customer.

    Ummm yeah I think she'll still be charged. No free bag I'm afraid. So do you guys in US still need to sign when using credit cards cos in Britian we simply enter our pin no. in most stores nowadays?!

    I think the store keeps an extra receipt (just in case) for the sake of record keeping...

    This happened to me once, and I still was charged.  The credit card gives an approval when swiped.
