Monday night thru yesterday afternoon, we were babysitting the french bulldog (I've blogged about him before)... he just turned 1 year old in mid-June and it seems that he isn't as hard to handle anymore... he still has his naughty moments, but not quite as bad as before...

But as we noticed Wednesday morning, his right eye was really red and the eyelids seem to sag a little... it got worse as the day progressed; it was irritating him. So we called his owner and we made the appointment to take him to the vet to get his eye checked out... We went to the vet yesterday and the vet said his right eye was irritated and infected... so he's on eye drops, eye ointment, and pain pills... but we've handed him back to his family members. We telephoned to see how he was doing and they said the swelling went down a little bit... *phew*

Anyway, the pet hospital that we went to was the same pet hospital we used to go to with our dogs; but we stopped going there when something unpleasant happened... and yesterday when I had to step into the past and enter the same pet hospital, I felt very uneasy; as we waited for the vet to come to our room, sitting by the door, I was looking outside into the other check-up rooms and all the memories started rushing through me... you know the feeling that when you're uneasy, it feels like your heart is beating rapidly and you can't breathe, I felt kinda like that... it was tough... (and honestly, when I see people on TV who acts with that feeling, I always felt they were exaggerating, but yesterday I discovered that it is really that hard)

I'm okay now... yesterday when I stepped into the pet hospital again to pick up Hunko, I was okay... didn't have that uneasy feeling...

Hopefully Hunko will be better soon...

Poor Hunko. It's good that you weren't as uneasy when you went to pick up him from the hospital. It must've been to fight your memories.

awwww, sorry to hear that and i hope his eye gets better..

i saw a japanese movie about dogs today called "a tale of mari and her 3 puppies"... CRIED! SOOO touching... you should watch it soemtime. i'd recommend it to all dog-lovers! i LOVED it...

The feeling of losing a pet.... so awful. At least you were able to face those memories and got through it alright.

Something awful must have happened at the vet in the past...at least you got over it now. You did well! Hope poor Hunko recovers soon.

I had similar experience when I had to bring Toby to the pet clinic to put him to sleep. He's my friend's pet, a shih tzu. Dying from old age and to end his suffering, my friend made the decision but she can't bear to see him go. I brought Toby to the clinic, it was not easy for me either cos I love toby very much too I and stayed with him till his last breathe. I will never forget those sad teary eyes.

A year later, I brought my guinea pig to the same pet clinic and I felt uneasy =(

What a cutie pie he is!!! I hope that medicine will help clear up the infection.

Wow. I hate that sense of dread, fear and doom when in situations like that....but you faced it, worked through it, and now you're stronger. **hugs**

Poor Hunko with that bum eye. Tell me! What was the cost of yesterday's visit and the meds? Has the owner got pet insurance.

You had a little anxiety attack or something? Wow. Glad you breathed and got through it. Sad memories.
