    A Merry Christmas and a happy Boxing Day, everyone!

    I usually walk down to town passing by this big hotel...

    I found this cake in Soho, so cute!!

    Did you have a nice Christmas? It's getting colder and windier here again ... :-(

    a view from a bridge.You can see Big Ben and the Millennium Wheel.  I walked down to them the other day...

    It was Boxing Day today in the UK. The news says there were a record-breaking number of people descended on the high streets to go on a Boxing Day shopping spree despite the worst recession for many years. People love shopping anyway...

    Well, for me,  I went to a new gym today (It was the only gym open today in my area) and afterwards I cooked a new recipe.

    Guess what? not the pig....

    ジャジャーーン！Canard à l’orange ,so called, Duck with Orange sauce. Traditionally, they say the British eat a goose at Christmas, but it's more popular to eat a turkey nowadays. But for me a duck!!

    Well grilled!! ちょっとグロテスクだけど、よく焼けました（笑）

    stuffed duckちゃん!

    with orange sauce はい、出来上がり！Now you can eat!!

    Yum, yum.  I love duck a l'orange.

    I was at husband's family's house for Xmas.  We ate leftovers Christmas Day (I kid you not).  The big event was the tree trimming party on Christmas Eve, with ham, an artichoke cheese puff, green beans, sweet potato and apple casserole, bruchetta and things like that.  Mostly, it was simple, filling food, a lot of desserts and hot chocolate (for the kids and the young at heart).  

    Tonight, my first night cooking in my own home again, I made a honey-glazed ham, baked sweet potato spears coated in sugar, red pepper and salt and pepper and a salad of leaf lettuce with nice Greek olives.  (I like to cook and I like, even more, to eat.  Some day I plan to do a week of blogs on what I'm cooking and eating, with appropriate commentary.  I think it would be an interesting experiment to do this.)  Needless to say, the two of us will be eating off of that 8 1/2 lb ham for a few days. :-)

    I like your pictures of London and its Christmas decorations.  What about Christmas decorations in your home?

    My mom cooked Christmas dinner. SO MANY things on the table! I ate waaaaaay too much :( but it was all sooooooo gooooooood ;) :)

    わぁ〜♪やっぱり好きかも、ロンドンのクリスマス…微妙に地味なところが（笑）
    ケーキ、素敵ですね、ヨーロッパっぽい雰囲気で。
    ご近所のマーケットもクリスマス仕様だったんですね〜♪…マーケットの写真の、右手前の白い物体はいったい…？？何が売られているのでしょう？？@_@?

    ↓で他の方もおっしゃってますが、是非、お料理のレシピを教えて下さい！トライしてみたいです！…って日本じゃダックもターキーもグースも入手困難ですが…鶏でも出来ますよね？？
