Our Hooky day was really fun last Friday. The nice sunny day was a plus. We dropped the kids off at daycare and off we went. We went to the bank to get our one errand out of the way. Next we went to North Beach’s Liguria Bakery because I NEEDED my pizza focaccia bread. It’s the best in SF…Bay Area IMO. That's all they make and sell...and sell out everyday usually around 1pm.

All Shelves and storefront windows have nothing in them.

They used to only have 3 flavors "Back in the Day"...Pizza, Plain, Raisin.
We bought 3 orders to take home and 1 order, sliced into 8 pieces. Mmmmm…Amy and I devoured 4 slices before we drove off. I can eat the whole thing. The night before, we were cleaning out our “Stash” drawer and found a bunch of gift cards and certificates collected over the years and never had a chance to use. We have cards and certs dating back to 1999!!! We took some of the restaurant certs and just played it by ear. So, after North Beach, we drove down to Jackson Square, near Kokkari, a greek restaurant where we had $50 to spend. I ran in to see if they can seat us and honor the gift cert. Yes & Yes! Btw…apparently gift cards and certs don’t expire in California. So, we parked and ran inside and treated ourselves to a very, very yummy lunch!

We sat next to the window.

Apricots, Watercress, Feta

Saganaki

Grilled Sea Bass with greens (Sorry, I ate the tail to tummy before I tooke the photo)
Next, we went Bloomies in the Westfield Mall. It's was our second time there, but the first time without kids. Amy did some returns (gifts she had received which didn't fit) and then we to the basement food megaplaza, it's huge and pretty impressive with the variety of eating establishments. I saw it once, but didn't buy...this time around, I had to try it...Beard Papa!!!

We ordered 2 chocoloate eclairs and 2 cream puffs. It was goooood. We brought them home to share with the kids.
Next was a brief stop at See's Candies to grab a 1lb box of Nut's and Chews...why? Another gift cert!!! Woo Hoo!!!

Last stop was the Disney Store. Sadly for some, Disney Stores have hit the hard times and are closing some stores in the Bay Area including this downtown location. Everything is on sale and we bought a big bag of...Stuff...for the kids.
That was it! Looking forward to our next date!
