    Layoffs! We were hit today with layoffs, first time during my time here. It feels like it's 2001 again, when AC and I were casualties of the Dot-Com times. 20 were let go today, 5 from my team. It was sudden, no warnings. And that's where I think it's wrong. I think that there should be some sort of warning, a "heads up" for people so that they can plan a bit. I know that there could be people out there who could have malicious thoughts and tendencies, but there are many out there that would have appreciated a little bit of time to prepare and plan. I mean, now, 20 people tomorrow will wake and suddenly, their daily routines are disrupted. I wish the best for them, as they were as hard working as the ones still with the agency. I just think it's a decent and respectful thing to do. Anyways, I do feel lucky to still be employed. Thank goodness.

    Yes, times are tough... lots of layoffs here as well!  We really have to be thankful for what we have.

    Oh, my!  They don't even wait for Black Fridays anymore to lay people off?  I sure hope that you keep your job.  You might wanna start updating the old resume, just in case, in your spare time.  It doesn't hurt to have it ready.  Good luck!

    This economy is hurting everyone.  It definitely would've been better if your co. could've given some warning to those being let go.  I hope they were given decent packages at least.  Good thing it wasn't you.

    but yea it's tough out there... depressing too... yea, it would be good if they give people a heads up about layoffs... *sigh*

    Yeah it certainly would be nice to get some warning, I know employers are probably worried that people will leave immediately if they warn them at the actually time, but that ain't the employee's fault. It's hard times, I hope it picks up this year

    Sign of the times I guess.  I've been laid off too.  I'm now scrambling for something before the end of the month.  I sure hope this downturn is more temporary than a lot of people are making it sound.
