  • Iron Man Date

    It's been a while since I've had time to catch up reading here. So what have i (we) been doing? Hmm... for one. We took a day off last week to watch our first movie in 1.5 years!!! The last movie date we had was when the wifey "tried" to surprise me when we went to watch "The Pursuit of Happyness" for my birthday. This time around, we went to see "Iron Man", one of my favorite comic book heroes.

    We were not disappointed at all. The wifey like it too. We thought that Robert Downey, Jr. was perfect for the role of Tony Stark. After dropping the kids off, I was listening to the radio where they warned anyone who went to watch this movie to stay to the end for a surprise clip. We did and that was really cool. It great that technology now allows these comic tales to come alive. My favorite scene is when Iron Man lands in the middle of his first conflict, reminds me of when Terminator first appears in those movies. Another thing that I miss are all those trailers. It was such a cheap date too...with  had a free movie pass (from donating blood) and matinee pricing...it was $7.50 for the both of us!!! Bargain!!!

    Easy to bring in Subway foot-long sandwich too. I really don't think they care as long as it isn't blatantly done. If the manager is around though, you know the ushers will grab you.

    Iron Man looks like an interesting film. I like how they have RD Jr, a very talented 40-something, rather than an unknown 20-something (Superman). I used to look at Iron Man comics when I was little.

    Matinee pricing take the sting out of watching movies, esp when they happen to be not up to expectations. And if you bring your own snacks, it's even better. heheh. ;D
