New Camera

As the holidays just passed, we were cleaning up and found 4 Best Buy gift cards...all with various amounts ranging from $5 to $50. So, we decided to buy a new point and shoot. We've been using a "prosumer" Canon camera the past few years and it's a bit clunky especially when we want to bring it to a party. We have an old digital Canon ELPH, but have dropped it a few times that something is really wrong with it. It works, but there has to be some shorting going on as I can take about 15 photos before the battery dies. It really not the battery since i have multiple batteries and the same thing happens to every battery. Also, the seams are "bursting" I can squeeze it shut, but it pops back out. Since it still works, it's not our daughter's camera.

So, with the 4 gift cards and $100 from holiday money, we bought a new Canon ELPH (SD1000). It's like a slim version of our old one. I did my research and came close to buying a non-Canon...but in the end, it's a Canon again. I really love Canons. This is my 4th Canon camera. I thought about buying the model with a larger LCD, but couldn't justify the extra $75. Besides, I do like the viewfinder (the other didn't have any) because it does save battery life especially in a pinch. So, now I can have a camera with me all the time to take and share photos here. There's been so many times I wish I had a camera with me and now...I do. :)

So, I'll curl up on my sofa with the multiple manuals and read myself to sleep...hoping to fully utilize our new toy.
