    Big tree down.

Big storm in SF Bay Area today...Earlier this week, it was billed as "Biggest storm in a decade" for the SFBA, and usually when the weatherpeople forecast this stuff, I really don't believe it. OK, I apologize to them for this one. It's pretty bad. I drove to work today, but was forced to go home. The reason is the road that leads to our parking lot gets flooded when 2 things happen: Big rain and high tide...we got both today. So, our exit ramp was closed by CHP, as I drove past, I saw that our bldg was like an island out in the bay. So, got the call that we had no access or power...home I go. I've never seen soooo many fallen trees and debris littering everywhere I drove. For once, I'm happy that I have an SUV (yes, some people boo this) because I drove through an intersection where the water reached the bottom of the truck, afterwards, with my brakes getting soaked, I lost some braking action. Luckily it came back after a little bit.

Garbage on sidewalks (this street wasn't that bad)

Knowing that there are quite a few AnDer's have ties to the SFBayAre, here are some current specifics, a lot of these thing don't happen too often because the Bay Area is pretty mellow weathered, but for all this to happen at the same time...it's pretty bad. I know that we don't get snow storms, hurricanes (this is close), tornados, etc...but this is pretty bad.

I didn't even bother with an umbrella that day because I knew it wouldn't stand a chance against the strong winds. Was definitely the worst weather I've ever experienced here so far.

I was thinking that other people (like IT) who had to travel from farther away to work prolly didn't have a good time going TO work and returning FROM work. Sucks.

Also, this blog didn't show up in my Feeds for some reason. Or I missed it.

So glad I'm not anywhere near those closed roadways, ferries and bridges. Feel sorry for those commuters. When there's a big storm, I try not to venture out far. It's disgusting to see drivers who don't adjust to the weather - they just zoom by or try to do their crafty moves on the freeway. F&ckers, I say! haha.

No work is sometimes a good thing. The bad thing is things pile up.

    Stay dry!
