    We didn't see all of the opening ceremonies...but most of it. It was THE BEST ONE yet! However...I don't know if it's just me...but I'm really not pleased with the announcers especially Bob Costas in the way he introduced the negative comments into such a great, inspiring, beautiful event over and over and over again throughout the broadcast. Couldn't he just leave it alone for just a bit?  Am I just reading too much into it? But even now after listening to more of his "mouth"...I'm putting Bob Costas into the doghouse with another "can't stand" sports announcer...Joe "Biased...Giants hating" Buck. The only good thing about the end of the Beijing Olympics is to not have to hear Costas again. Say what you will about Barry Bonds...but I loved the way he treated Costas and Buck!!! LOL!!!

    Did you catch this - Costas sounded so annoyed when he was talking about Lin Dan celebrating after he won gold in badminton yesterday.  I think he earned that right.  I really want to write into NBC now.  Their coverage has been just awful.

    i'm not aware of his comments (well, since i'm in HK and all)... all the comments i heard were positive- except today when everyone found out about the singer girl story... =/

    Totally agree with you on this.  I don't normally have an issue with Costas but he so didn't need to go there esp. given the spirit of the occasion.  You know I can't stand Joe Buck either.  I can't believe Fox still hasn't moved him off the baseball broadcasts after those comments he made about the sport being so unexciting and whatnot.

    How did BB treat Costas and Buck?? Like I'm supposed to know... =)

    It seems to be so totally human to be sarcastic and break out the snide a bit. I think he'd do that for any country. I think I heard most of it during the athletes parade though.

    well i think they all kind of wanted to put china down.. the ones I saw.. said.. it's ither going to make china or take them 2 steps back.. obviously.. it made china stronger

    Some of the British commentators were the same on the BBC, they couldn't help but bring negative comments in either. With my family we were praying they'd shut up, because we missed a lot of what was being said in the stadium, thanks to them.
