Return from Hiatus - Part 2

We left Disneyland at 5pm, made it home at 1am. The drive wasn't so bad. I think I'm getting used to it now.

On Sunday, we were going to meet my friend Angie, from Vancouver. I wrote about her earlier as she's been battling cancer for the last year. Good news is that her tests are returning with good results. This means that she's getting better!!! 

She was visiting SF with her family and today she was leaving for home with an evening flight. Her trip to SF was kind of a last minute one where her hubby asked her if she wanted to take a trip for her birthday. When she called to surprise me...wouldn't you know it!...It was during the same time as our DL trip and  we had already made plans for DL months ago. But at least we were able to see each other and spend a day before she went home. The last time we saw each other was her wedding many years ago.

So, they drove over from the East Bay and we went to lunch and caught up and watched the kids play. So, as the day was foggy, we found online that their flight was delayed. Good news for us that we were able to squeeze some more time in. Finally, it was time for them to leave, so we said our goodbyes. About and hour later, I get a call from her with some good news and bad news. The good news, we can spend more time together and celebrate her birthday on Monday!!! Yay!!! The bad news...the airlines said they were a minute late to the 1 hour cutoff and they couldn't get them on the plane. I felt so bad for them, thinking that we had kept them from leaving earlier. They plead their case, but to no avail, they had to catch the next flight at 6-ish AM. So, I went to pick them up as they had already returned their rental car. We spent the rest of the night chatting, but went to bed early as we had to get up around 4am to drive to the airport. Luckily, we live about 15 mins from the airport. Anyway, I guess it's a memorable birthday for her...and us. I'm so glad she came to visit.

So, after dropping them off, I went to work knowing that it was going to be longer than usual day as we had deliverables to client. But, unfortunately, I broke my old record of hours and instead of hoping to leave at 8-ish...I didn't leave the office until Tuesday 3am!!! Ugh!!! I got home at 3:30am, went to bed, just to get up at 8am for a meeting. Ugh!!! Ugh!!! I wasn't tired...but had that weird feeling...like everything seemed...loud. Anyways...more on the week to come.
