Looky-look, Bay Area fans. At the S.F. International Asian American Film Festival:
Asian American actors are increasingly finding more opportunities in Asia, particularly in Hong Kong, where San Francisco-born Daniel Wu found stardom. And as the Asian market becomes more important to Hollywood studios, actors with recognition in Asia (like Hawaii-born Maggie Q) can be an asset to Hollywood films. Meanwhile, Korean production companies are looking to Korean American filmmakers to bridge the gap between Asian and American markets, resulting in films like West 32nd and Never Forever. This panel will discuss the unique versatility of Asian American actors and filmmakers and the opportunities that potentially await them on both sides of the Pacific.

Tickets go on sale for non-members on the 18th.

Who wants to get together before and/or after? We can do Daniel at 1pm and then do Wendy at 7:30. I've cleared my schedule (when I had nothing planned anyways). teehee. ;D Jane, Cass, Lilly, Yes_Tom, Stella, clock, uh....?
