My friend from SF is in town for a couple of days and she decided to treat me to dinner tonight (and tomorrow night). Well actually...her company is paying for it but whatevers. Free food is free food. We didn't know what to eat so I decided to Yelp it. So somehow between all the other 4-5 star reviews on Japanese restaurants, we settled for Gyu-Kaku in West LA. The food was alright. I would stay away from the garlic fried noodles and garlic butter mushrooms. The noodles was too salty and the mushroom didn't taste like anything. There was a big slab of butter wrap in the foil before we put it on the grill and it ended up tasting like nothing. I don't know if I would recommend this place to anyone based on the taste of the food, but I do like the atmosphere in there. The staff is really friendly and attentive. Oh and if you go on Monday nights you might catch a glimpse of this hot waiter. I'm thinking he might either be my age or a year younger. He's tall, tanned, and I think he's mixed. He's so hot. I can't even begin to describe how hot this guy is. My friend was practically drooling. I decided to fill out the survey that came with the check just so I can put my email down. Hey...you never know. He could email me right? Oh and he had the sexiest voice. I was like...please don't stop talking to me. I might not be a fan of the food, but I am a fan of this hot waiter.

My fillet mignon that took forever to cook. There was a 50% discount because it was still happy hour when we ordered. No I didn't eat it raw.

My very salty garlic fried noodles. I should've known better.

My little rice ball. I grilled it, brushed some sauce on it, and ate it. Quite tasty. I like rice.

I think this was called bistro harami miso? Whatever, this was pretty good.

The mushrooms that didn't taste like anything. I waited 40 minutes for it to grill and was disappointed.

My tall and handsome waiter with the sexy voice recommended this dessert.

Darn, no pics of the waiter but tons of good food. A good-looking waiter makes such the difference with the food experience, wouldn't you say? lol

Super straight forward and blunt. I'm the friend that tells you that you look like sh*t at the end of a long day at work (and then I help you fix your hair). I can be pretty intimidating, but everyone around me knows that I'm one of the nicest people they'll ever meet. I can talk to anyone, anywhere, on just about anything that comes to my mind at the moment. I'm a Cancer so I can get along with practically anyone. At this moment in life, I can say that the smartest decision I ever made was to study abroad in Hong Kong, where all I did was shop, eat, party, and travel for a year (but don't tell my parents that). I'm super addicted to girly books (I love Sophie Kinsella) and was recently tricked into reading my first romance novel(it's like porn on books). I truly believe that I am destined to be a photographer, food critic, or an event planner, but somehow landed in banking and finance. I'm an impulsive shopper (last year I bought a PSP and now it's just sitting on my book shelf). I have a passion for food and I love trying new restaurants. I once told a friend "if we weren't working together we would never be friends because you can't eat garlic." My friends appreciate food. For some odd reason (I still haven't figured out what) I have the shortest attention span when it comes to the guys I date. I can be staring at my cell phone when it rings, but I'll never pick it up. I'm addicted to buying Chinese DVDs. I'm allergic to lychee, but I eat it anyways. I can't stand pretentious people, I rather respect you for your b*tchy a**hole selves. I learned how to read and speak Mandarin by watching tv. I once told a Congressmen to get off my seat at a conference in capitol hill. I'm not on facebook.
