My Labor Day Weekend

Why can't we have long weekends every week? I wouldn't mind working an extra hour each day if I could just get one more day off. Do we really need to have a 5 day work week?
Anyways...I had a pretty eventful Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't get to take advantage of any of the sales that were going on. It's okay...I should be saving money anyways. Hmm...where should I start boring you all with what I did this weekend? Well Friday was JL's last day at work. I was actually a little sad to see her go. She left me with so much work when lunch time rolled around today I finally remembered that I didn't have my breakfast yet.
I only had time to eat a peach. Luckily, it was a monstrous size peach. Anyways, Friday I landed in SFO at around 5:00 but I didn't get picked up until 6:30pm. Can you believe that? Because I had to wait at the airport for so long, I bought a book to entertain myself. I started to read "Skinny Bitch" and lost all appetite for sweets and meat. It's basically a book about how to lose weight by changing your lifestyle. The authors of this book likes to gross you out by talking about how much chemicals are put into soda how slaughterhouses kill cows, porks, and chicken. Luckily, the sight of this salmon sashimi made me forget all that I had read earlier. After reading the first half of that book, I thought I wasn't going to eat anything every again but water and apples.
On Saturday morning I was able to sleep in until about 11 I think. After checking some emails and breakfast, my two cousins, my sister and I walked to Pier 39. Our first stop was the San Francisco Bay Aquarium. It really sucked, but my cousin really wanted to go and we had some discount coupons so I thought...sure why not. It won't kill me to look at some fish. Little did I know, I got a little dizzy from looking at the first few tanks of fish too closely. Is this the effect of old age? Probably not. I like to blame the fish tank. I did take two very cool pics of sting rays. Well at least I think they are cool.
It's like they're smiling at you.
Have any of you ever been to Chowders? I like the crab sandwich but I think their clam chowder was a little bit too thick and creamy for my taste.
After our late lunch, we decided to try the 4D Turbo rides. We went on three because that was the best deal. Let me tell you, I really really didn't want to go. I have to say, the first ride was pretty cool. It's some log ride that takes you through the process of cutting logs in some amazon. What I thought was a real rip off was the Spongebob ride. It was boring and it sucked. Do not let your kids or younger siblings talk you into getting onto this ride.

After wasting some cash on this ride, we walked back to the apartment to pick up my aunt for dinner. We had dungeness crab at PPQ. I love the roasted crab and the garlic noodles. Ooh...the papaya salad was pretty good too.

Later on in the evening, my cousin, sister, and I watched Tropic Thunder. It was really funny. I loved it. I have the "I'm the dude playin' the dude disguised as another dude" line stuck in my head. Did you know that Tom Cruise is in the movie too? He dances.
Sunday I went to a bbq at a friend's house. This dude that I didn't like was there. I really didn't want him to go but luckily he did, because he marinated some good meat for the bbq. That still doesn't mean I have to like him as a person. After it started to get a little windy outside, we moved the food fest indoors. I was a little bored. Maybe it's a generation/cultural gap thing. My friends were all in their early to mid 30s and was raised in HK for the first 10+ years of lives. Is it because I'm an ABC that I don't find watching a DVD concert of Joey Yung entertaining? Whatevers. I left for a bit to have dinner with my aunt and then joined them later in the evening for KTV. I really hate the sound of people playing the dices around me. Every 15 seconds I would hear that little cup slam onto the table. I wanted to smack someone. There were a lot of people there but fortunately I was still able to insert most of the songs that I wanted to sing. I felt kinda bad cutting some people off, but I don't really think they noticed. Most of them were drunk. The crazy thing is that I bumped into this guy that looked exactly like my friend's ex-boyfriend. I almost said hi until I realized he was the same height as me. My friend's ex was a good couple of inches taller than me. Anyways I finally made it home at about 2:30 and crawled into bed a little after 3.
So that pretty much covers my weekend.
Now that I wrote a blog about, it didn't seem that eventful.
Argh! I have to work again tomorrow.

I'm the friend that tells you that you look like sh*t at the end of a long day at work (and then I help you fix your hair). I can be pretty intimidating, but everyone around me knows that I'm one of the nicest people they'll ever meet. I can talk to anyone, anywhere, on just about anything that comes to my mind at the moment. I'm a Cancer so I can get along with practically anyone. At this moment in life, I can say that the smartest decision I ever made was to study abroad in Hong Kong, where all I did was shop, eat, party, and travel for a year (but don't tell my parents that). I'm super addicted to girly books (I love Sophie Kinsella) and was recently tricked into reading my first romance novel(it's like porn on books). I truly believe that I am destined to be a photographer, food critic, or an event planner, but somehow landed in banking and finance. I'm an impulsive shopper (last year I bought a PSP and now it's just sitting on my book shelf). I have a passion for food and I love trying new restaurants. I once told a friend "if we weren't working together we would never be friends because you can't eat garlic." My friends appreciate food. For some odd reason (I still haven't figured out what) I have the shortest attention span when it comes to the guys I date. I can be staring at my cell phone when it rings, but I'll never pick it up. I'm addicted to buying Chinese DVDs. I'm allergic to lychee, but I eat it anyways. I can't stand pretentious people, I rather respect you for your b*tchy a**hole selves. I learned how to read and speak Mandarin by watching tv. I once told a Congressmen to get off my seat at a conference in capitol hill. I'm not on facebook.
That's all. I think.
