Just back from Guangzhou 广州 for the annual docfest 纪录片大会 This was my 4th year going, I coundn't believe how time flies! My first trip to the festival was when I was only a few days into moving to China from Australia. Outside of the fest, which was go-go-go, it was nice just to be back and enjoy the food and atmosphere the town has to offer, lots of cheap eats and great places to walk about. Am off this afternoon to 天津 for more on the war film, hopefully can return to Beijing for a longer stay in a few days. Here are some photos I took at the closing ceremony at the Sun Yat-Sen memorial - quite a breathtaking location!

Sam (司马优） is a China-based actor and director. A graduate of Melbourne's Victorian College of the Arts, Sam was raised in Manila, Taipei, Beijing, as well as his native Australia. His 2nd year student short film "Crash Test" was awarded 2nd prize for film at the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2000. In addition to acting for film and TV in China, Sam now focuses on directing sino-centric films for the international market.
