• Unexpected Travels: 突出的出差

  Spent most of the week in Tianjin 天津 for the war movie. But even with long johns and two pairs of socks on it was mighty cold! Temperatures are going to get much colder before it gets warmer, so before we head up to Jilin 吉林 for exteriors I'm going to have to get myself some heavy duty Antarctic winter wear (it gets up to -30 degress Celcius someone told me). Got back to Beijing last night and there's a chance I'll be off to the Guangzhou International Documentary Festival (中国（广州）国际纪录片大会) tomorrow. Is anyone going? It's all very unpredictable at the moment, not knowing what's going on from one minute to the next.

  But I did want to put this photo up below. I took it on a trip to Papua New Guinea 巴布亚新几内亚 at the beginning of the year. PNG is such a beautiful place, and the people are probably the friendliest, warmest, and most sincere I've ever met. But this photo at the international airport as I was departing sure gave me a bit of a jolt! Reminds me of a scene in the original "Airplane" movie, or "Flying High" as it was called in Australia.
