Watch "Lost in Beijing", if you haven't seen it already. It will explain a lot about modern China, and give you a clue about said media-mongering "artiste". The picture presents such an unflattering picture of the citizens of China that the government banned the film and banned the filmmaker from working for 3 years! I think she just showed it like she saw it--graft, greed, corruption, blackmail, licentiousness, pettiness--basically any form of immorality, perhaps even murder. Modern China--dog-eat-dog and every man/woman for him/herself.
