I'm back at work after the long weekend.  On Sunday, I did my grocery shopping and then got Haagen Dazs.... tiramisu and coffee flavours.   Then in the evening, I went to a friend's house for dinner..... they had fresh sashimi among other things.  Omgosh, with wasabi..... delicious.  Monday was a pretty relaxed day as well.  I spent most of the day cleaning out my closet and bedroom.  Last night, I watched "A Cinderella Story" with Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray.  It's a teen flick.... a modern twist to the classic Cinderella story.    I love the part at the Halloween dance where she and Chad were in the Gazebo.

I remember watching movies/TV shows where relationships are started though the internet.... email, SMS etc. (anyone remember "You've Got Mail" with Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan and "The Perfect Man" with Heather Locklear?)  I don't know anyone who actually started out this way, but I've seen movies and read about couples who met through the internet.  While, I think the internet is a great way to meet people but, with that said, one still has to be careful as they're lots of shady characters out there.  So, does that mean if you get along through communicating online that you'll automatically get along in the real world   I feel there is an advantage since you already know a bit about the person beforehand, so the awkwardness or  unfamiliarity is not as intense.  I have yet to meet any one through the internet...  but from all the blogs I've read here about  meet ups, it sounds pretty cool.

I've had many relationships started online. They're mostly the fm-fm variety though. haha.

I know of 2 couples who met online and then married. But, you can never be let your guard down.

Sounds like a nice relaxing weekend.  I'm a little wary of the meeting people online thing but like Jane, I also have friends who've met their significant others online and the relationships have worked out so maybe there's something to it.   I wonder if there have been any AnD hookups :P

actually my friend, Laura (the bride-to-be) met her soon-to-be-husband via MySpace... pretty interesting...

but hmm... I don't think communicating online will guarantee a good communication in real life... b/c online you have no pressure of seeing someone face to face, eye to eye... and actually I think many people have a slightly different online personality... some are more open online and some aren't...

I've been rather surprised that I actually took the courage to meet people that I knew online... done it a few times... =) usually I wait and observe (virtually) to see if it will be okay to meet someone... surprised my mom never said anything to me... but anyhoo, I think people here on AnD are fun to meet... =)
